We're in a really good spot right now. All the ingredients are in place for some great things to happen. We finish the season with two teams that have struggled this year. The playoffs are almost a surety. Coach Mac doesn't need to worry a bit about his future at WSU. Sounds great doesn't it?
I've got to play the cynic and bring us back down to earth for a minute. These ingredients are also a great recipe for complete and utter complacency. Idaho State and Eastern Washington may not deserve much focus. All we need is one more win to make the playoffs right? Coach Mac's seat isn't hot (not even lukewarm) so he can sit quite comfortably.
No, I don't expect the coaching staff and team to let up much, if at all. However, this is the time we either prove we belong or get lazy and rest on our laurels. Here's hoping we tighten up the loose screws and work our way even further up the polls. No time for laziness.
