All-Weber team last 20 years

I've been following the Cats for 20 years now. Quite a number of good teams and players. But who are the top 8 (at each position and off the bench)?

Point Guard: Boyette
Shooting Guard: Lillard (OK, maybe a fudge here, but all the best guards have been primarily point guards)
Small Forward: Arceneaux
Power Forward: Patten
Center: Allred (this one was tough, not as big of a talent pool at center)

Bench: Gill, DeGraffenried, Nembhard (tough to leave Ocokoljic off, but he really had only one season with the Cats, playing his Sr year on 1 and 1/2 legs).

Hard to argue with that. Just like you said, you kind of have to fudge the positions a bit, to fill out the team. I'm waiting for the day to come when WSU finally gets a true dominant center.

I'd have a couple of changes.

1st Team:
PG: Damian Lillard 2012
SG: Eddie Gill 2000
SF: Al Hamilton 1993
PF: Harold Arceanoux 2000
C: Lance Allred 2005

2nd Team:
PG: SUPAMAN (Boyette) 2003
SG: Ruben 1995
SF: Jimmy Dee 1995
PF: Slobodan 2004
C: Stan Rose 1993

Honorable Mention:
Robbie Johnson 1994, Lewis Lofton 1995, Andy Jensen 1999, Kirk Smith 1996, Johnny Hamilton 2004, David Patten 2007, and Kellen McCoy 2010.

The best center ever was Willie Sojourner. It isn't even close. Power forward, I'd have to go with Bob Davis.
Small forward, Bruce Collins. Guards would be Damian and Mark Matos.

You are definitely right, but Willie, Bob (Harold tough to beat, but... ;-) ), Bruce, and Mark (How about Brady Small?) all played earlier than 20 years ago.

Brady Small was the best defensive point guard ever in a WSU uni. Mark Matos, though not a good shooter, averaged nearly 10 assists per game over 4 years. Both Brady and Mark scored a little bit. It was the other aspects of their games that made them outstanding. If you could take the best parts of their games and add them into a Damian Lillard, wow, what a player that would be. Harold was a truely great player at the three spot, but Bruce was sensational for four years and still holds the all time scoring record. They are very simmilar players, but Bruce was slightly better, athletically. Bruce blocked more shots and got more rebounds. Bob Davis was a 6'8'' 265lb monster. He was quick and athletic. Nobody could stop him within 15 ft of the basket. If we had him on our team right now, you could pencil us in for a sweet 16 appearance. :coffee:

I think these are in the past 20 years. Stan Rose/Rico Washington at PF. K Bull at SF. Allred at C. McCoy and Dame at guards. :thumb:

My history of watching WSU Basketball only goes back 10 years so I rate these as the top 5 players in that time frame - I am not listing by position or offensive output, but simply by one factor - Did they contribute to wins?

Here is my top five:
Lillard
Allred
Boyette
McCoy
Mahoney/Patten (tied for 5th)

Honorable Mention
Bamforth
Slobadon
Bull
Arturas

It is quite possible that we will be adding one or two names to these lists after this coming season. The most likely one is Berry. If Trez could get about 7 rebounds a game, he'd get my vote for center. With a solid year, Bam will be on a lot of lists. Two or three years from now, we will be taking about another guard and, hopefully, a new forward or two.

I like them all. Right down to the walk on that never plays in a game, but comes to practice every day and makes those that do play, better. :coffee:
