I put this out for sacstatesman. This may be the reason they can never win in Ogden. Their players go crazy and just want to kill themselves when the go above 2000 ft in elevation. :yikes:

That may explain the absolute insane paranoia of this board over one lousy loss to USU.
Sac, I understand that you shouldn't care or know how important in-state match-ups are to the long-time fans, how important they used to be to players and coaches, or the difference it can make in the recruiting battle for Weber State. Maybe the excitement on this board has less to do with "one lousy loss to USU" and more to do with the following:
1) A 33 point meltdown in about 12 minutes of basketball and the clueless faces of players and coaches alike.
2) It was thought this might be a year ripe for the pickin' to get rare win in Logan.i
3) A 7-26 record vs in-state the past 9 years of Rahe. (not counting SUU since they're a weak part of a weak BSC)
4) An increase in the @$$ kickings at the hands of in-state at the same time Weber's program getting stronger? and stronger?
5) Rahe admitting his system is so above everyone elses that only his players can't be expected to be ready to compete until January.
That doesn't sit well with this long-time fan. I have much more pride in my team than to write off OOC and in-state as unimportant, especially when I've followed the program through years of high competitiveness against in-state. Someone posted that Neil Maccarthy would have busted a chair over a loss like that and that it never would have happened with a Ron Abegglen team and I tend to agree. Rahe says, "games like these prepare us for conference play." Prepare them for what? How to lose (twice - MSU & UM) in the tournament on their home floor after being up 20? For me, this about much more than "one lousy loss to USU"!
