I have watched and attended Weber games for several years. I think of myself as a realistic fan, understanding that yes, our guys do commit fouls, make mistakes, etc at times.

Whenever there is a controversy, there seems to be a common element---and his name is Jimmy Casas. I saw him yell from the court at Coach Rahe in SLC a few years ago when Damian was getting mauled and no calls were being made.

In the interest of fairness and limiting bad feeling, I formally request that JIMMY CASAS NEVER REFS A WEBER STATE GAME....EVER!

The really sad thing about that is that Jimmy is one of the best refs in the BSC right now. He is not even in the bottom 15. That is the current state of officiating in the BSC. :yikes:

According to what?

Jimmy's not a bad ref, he just carries a grudge, for years and years and years. He has had a hard on for WSU since before Randy was hired. Over the years, he has let it be known. He hasn't kept it a secret. There is nothing that can be done about it, the BSC is in love with him. Do you think, for even a minute, that the other coaches want to see him gone, when they know what they will get out of him in a WSU game. Not a chance they want him gone. :wall:

This guy is tool.... He is the worst referee in America..

Worse than Eric Curry?

Curry is on a level all by himself.

There are bad refs, then there is Curry. The tallish thinner dark hair guy is slowly creeping up on that level though (I don't know his name yet). If him and Curry are reffing a game together it's going to be a FT fest with lots of WTF moments.

Weber loses frequently whenever Casas calls a game. I wonder what our W/L record is under Casas? Regardless, the Skys refs are worse than ever this season. Awful! Yikes so embarrassing being in the Sky. But agreed...jimmy needs to go.

So ur saying he rarely does our games? Lol

I wish I could say this game makes my top 25 worst wsu ref'd games but it doesn't. The list is bad. Goes back to 2002.

We didn't lose last night because of the refs. We lost because Sac played better defense than we did, and because of our own mistakes. Bad calls happen in every game. You have to overcome them and not let them get to you.

Maybe this will give Sac the confidence to go on and win a few more games now. Most BSC teams seem to be getting better as the season progresses. That's a good thing.

Now, if the refs could just keep up with the teams????!!! :yikes:

We lost because Sac did what we could not, make free throws

Berry's two technical misses were really at an inopportune time but beside Gittens, they really didn't shoot too badly from the stripe. I would pin the loss on being out-rebounded before I would free throws.

Additionally, Berry's turnover late and calling timeout when they didn't have any killed too.

I hate to say it but Richardson had a terrible game offensively and Joel needs to figure out how to score. A couple alley op dunks could have opened things up a bit. Perfect play to use when a team is playing a zone. No matter, SAC played a great game last night. That shot by Garrity was insane. No matter if he got it off in time or not he hit a 70'. Yikes!! Awesome but for me it was a punch in the gut. It'll take a few years but I'll have to watch it again. That ending was crazy!!

But back to the point...ugh this conference has some absolutely terrible refs. Curry is bad but Casas is down right shit.

Be careful about asking for the removal of any officials. Go to a Jr Jazz game or two and see if there is anyone there you would like better. That is the pool that the BSC picks from. The Mountain West Conf. has sole rights to the Jr High ranks, and PAC12 gets the High School guys. So, be careful!!! :stir:

It's sad to read post like this on our own site. I guess none of the following actually happened and it's all Berry's fault according to you.

J Rich going 0-8
Tres turning the ball over after a rebound with 1:30 remaining
Joel missing a layup
Coach Rahe giving up 2pts with his tech
A miracle shot
Questionable refs

Sure Berry made some mistakes but he can't call the time out if he doesn't get the steal. And didn't the 3 before the buzzer fix the timeout mistake? For a guy that scored 29pts you guys have selective memory.

No single player ever loses a game. On a night where our shooting wasn't there, or Sac's D was great. It really did come down to defense and rebounding. We were a little short on both. You gotta hand it to Sac, they did enough to win that game. It was a big, big deal to them. It probably made their season and saved their coaches job. :coffee:

Don't really know what you're talking about? Where did I ever blame everything on Berry? Mostly, I thought being out-rebounded (as a team) was a bigger problem than FT% (also as a team). Take a deep breath. It's OK to acknowledge some mistakes a player makes and not blame him for a loss or anything else you want to make up.

Got it.. so out of all of the mistakes Weber made as a TEAM, you felt it was relevant to only call out three that were attributed to Berry? SMH

I'm good with you calling out a player mistakes that's all fine and dandy but your original post didn't paint an accurate picture of what ALL went down in Sac. And yes you did call out the rebounds which I agree with 100%
