Clemson sniffing around ex-Ole Miss QB?

It’s been just over a month since Nathan Stanley decided to leave the Ole Miss football program, and the quarterback has received interest from upwards of a dozen schools.

Included in those 12 or so schools are teams at the Div. 1-AA level — Montana, Montana State and Eastern Washington among others — as well as, somewhat surprisingly, a team from a BcS conference.
...

Stanley would’ve been a redshirt junior in 2011 but will be forced to sit out the 2011 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, unless he drops down a level.

Don't know why we'd be interested since we have a NC winning QB in BLM for 2011, and a stable of reliable backups. Stanley would likely only start one year in 2012 if he came here... that's if he won the starting job.

he could still probably redshirt if he transfers to an FCS school, it just wouldn't be required.

True, although I doubt he would. Usually if they're dropping down from FBS it's because they're tired of sitting on the bench.

Yeah, don't really see us needing another QB.....probably isn't coming here. If we went anywhere in the Big Sky, I could see Montana maybe.....maybe.
