I agree with you that he was the best 5 man. Kozak was probably a bit better as a combo 4/5. That doesn't have much to do with this years team. I will still say that none of us, including someone close to him, were part of the conversations between the coaching staff and Tim. It is true, if we sign another player that would leave us over the grant limit if someone else did not transfer or accept a walk on spot. That tells me that we do have someone better lined up for the coming year and that it would have pushed Tim to the fourth or fifth big man on the roster, probably fourth. However, if we kept Tim on a grant, we would have to give up one of our guards. Those are tough choices for players and coaches. Add into that, the pressures the coaches are feeling to win at a higher level. I still hope that we can get him back the following year. Like I said, that may just be a pipe dream.BigWaldO said:Spoke with someone close to Tim Fuller about the situation and basically he was told that if he returned next season he would not be on scholarship. He had no plans of leaving until he got that news. So in other words he was ran out. Fuller was arguably the best big man last season and could have developed into a real good player given time.

Yeah, I'm with you there. Looks like an even trade to me. Time will tell. I'm happy for Tim to get a chance to be a three year starter for UVU. From what I can see, they really need his services. I too hope he does really well against us, if they play us. There is no contract for that right now. Although, this was going to be the year they came to our place. I hope they can get that deal done. This leaves us a little thin for big men. Our depth is a man recovering from major knee surgery and two walk-ons. Our success in the front court is largely dependent on staying injury free. I think we are loaded with guards and wings.Tube Socks said:I kind of hope he kicks our ass every time he plays against us. Pushing him out was a mistake. If David Nzekwesi turns out to be better you can all call me on it and I'll eat crow. But after 2 years of playing to Fuller's one year, Fuller was the better player.
I think that is for next years recruiting class and would be a November signing if we get him. I expect that next years class will include several transfers as well. Some of the JC sort and some of the drop down sort. There could also be a HS player thrown in the lot.wazzuwildcat03 said:I just saw on Verbal Commits that we offered another JC wing player for this class? Does that mean we will have another player leave? Crazy year. Here is the link
