This sucks. He was gonna play a big part in getting pressure to the QB this year. Hopefully this won't affect us too much.

Yes, I was really disappointed when I heard about this a few weeks ago. Hope he can get it together so he can earn a degree.
 
Eastern does a fantastic job of getting these "risky" academic kids through school with degrees, even if they havea hiccup along the way. For the student-athlete, getting the degree and having it for the remainder of your lifetime is a lot more important than playing footall (although it may not seem like it to a 20 year old). If the work ethic is there, Larry will be fine.

He could return in 2013 if academically eligible, Baldwin said. “Potentially, he could play his senior year,” Baldwin added.

You can not gray shirt once your eligibility clock starts. That starts the first quarter that you take 12 units. You then have 5 years to play 4.
