I love Williamsburg!! I was an intern, it seems too many years ago now, in D.C. and I visited the area a few times. Great place.. Unfortunately, its a bit expensive to get out there with one weeks notice, but nonetheless, it'll be a great game. Welcome to the board.

Due to it being last minute and Thanksgiving weekend, airfare is sky high. I would love to make the trip but too pricey for me. I hope the game is televised. Should be a good game. W&M looks very good. Best defense we will have faced all year.

I will fly out for the game and meet my cousin from Maryland. Looking forward to a great game and seeing Williamsburg. We just got 4 inches of snow today in Utah. The weather looks good in VA for Saturday. It looks like the cheapest flights from SLC are to Richmond. I can't wait as the Wildcats are maybe peaking at the right time this year. Go Wildcats!!!

As you probably figured out, Williamsburg is served by three airports. Richmond is 45 miles away, Norfolk about the same, and Newport News/Williamsburg is about 15 miles. Avoid Norfolk if possible because traffic from there to Williamsburg can be bad. The drive from the Richmond airport is a breeze.

The best hotel for game visits is the Hospitality House, which has about 400 rooms, and is directly across the street from Zable Stadium. It has a good bar, and there are three restaurants/bars right next to it. Figured there were some non-Mormons among you who might appreciate that.

Dude... Words can't express how bad I wish I could go to the game. I served my 2 yr mission for the LDS church in Baltimore MD which is right down the road. I am super jealous of anyone who gets to go to the game!!! It will be a great game. Can't wait to watch it!

... and a few jacks... :?

...no offense to my LDS brethren from your gentile admirer. :)

Hello Tribe4SF,

I am told there is a college in your state with masses of mormons. Is this correct, and if yes, why is this? Can you confirm this datum?

It is called South Virginia or Southern Virginia to my knowledge.

It is correct, although I wouldn't refer to their enrollment as "masses" of anything. Southern Virginia University is a small, liberal arts school with an LDS focus. LDS leadership in Virginia saved the old Southern Seminary from extinction in the 1990s, and launched a new four-year liberal arts college. The "why is this" question has an obvious answer....the school exists as an LDS learning experience.

Does anyone know if the Weber State Alumni group in DC has been contacted? There is a fairly respectable cadre of Weber (Utah connected) Alumni and fans in the DC metropolitian area. I know that a group of my buddies (USU Alumni) are going to head down to support the Cats on Saturday. They are trying to get as many Utah or Western friends to attend the game. I hope there is a good fan section representing the Cats.

No matter: Can any of you W & M fans get me Samantha Casey's digits... WOW!! As begalhater would say, She is SMOKIN HOT!!

Its a cryin shame this game falls on the week of thanksgiving. I'd be all about traveling to VA. I love that area of the country. Absolutely one of the most beautiful, excpet, those hills out there aren't mountains. Anyway, I wish those fans who are traveling the best. Have a great game and good luck to the Tribe.

To the tribe, where is the best place to tailgate?

In the newspaper it said to contact Becky Thompson the Wildcat Club director about fans going to the game. I would contact her about other fans that will be at the game. You can probably get tickets through the Wclub if necessary. They even have tailgate parties too at away games. We did that at CSU and was a lot of fun.

It's going to be the same way every year in the playoffs. The first round game will always fall on Thanksgiving weekend.
