Anyone on here actually going to Reno?

I'm going and plan to stay at the Weber hotel. I'll meet up with wazzu wildcat and patten jr if they really show up.

It's 4 hr drive or less from Saint Joe's and I've only seen 1 wsu game in person this yr when the Potatoes came to Ogden.

My dad and I considered it until I saw the dates, don't have enough leave to take a whole week off, maybe if the dates were more accommodating

My wife and I will be there, at the same hotel. Also, my brother in law, a Wildcat, is coming up from San Diego.

Glad your wife is willing to stay at the same hotel as you

I bribed her with another vacation. Plus, it's her brother who is meeting us there. I might even get her sister and brother in law to show up from the bay area.

Nope, I won't be able to take the time off work.

Does anyone know what channel the tournament games are going to be on? Are the early rounds internet stream only?

It would be a blast to go but alas...a mountain of medical bills higher than Mt. Ogden and a tourney price tag of 2 grand ( approx) jst don't mix. Ill just have watch as much as I can t home and take my camerato the family room.

I will be there with my little brother PattenJR. We are staying at Circus Circus. The Edorado was sold out. Meeting SirVelo and his wife. SirVelo knows all the best strip clubs and promised to take us to the Bunny Ranch. Go Weber!!!!

its not sold out. is it too late for you to still stay at el dorado? someone on here said its just blocked off for big sky fans so you need to call them...apparently.

Not Going!

Voting with my wallet on this one. I don't like the tournament generally, and this incarnation of it is horrible. Why play a regular season? Either have the regular season champs host it or do away with the tournament. I would rather play a longer regular season and play everyone. Let the regular season champs represent you in the big dance.

I am in favor of: Cutting the BSC tournament to 8 teams.
Seeds 1,2,3,4 play tournament on home court of #1 seed.
Seeds # 5,6,7,8 play a play-in game on the #5 seeds court. (5&8, 6&7)
(first play-in game is played on Monday)
Winners of first play-in play each other on the #5 seeds court.
(second play in game is played on Tuesday)
Winner of second play-in game plays in the tournament on a Thurs nite, playing #4 seed, with winner playing the #1 seed on Friday nite along with seeds 2 & 3 playing each other on Friday.
Saturday nite the final game is played between the two surviving teams.

It cuts the tournament participants to 5 but allows three others to feel like they got a final chance to qualify.
Played on home courts where the highest possible attendance is attained.
Rewards the regular season champ with a nice path thru the tournament.
Puts the play in team & the #4 seed in disadvantageous position because of their weak regular season finish.
Rewards the fans who cannot afford to travel to see a game a chance to see the tournament.

I'm not sure that I understand what that organization would be like, but it sounds like a logistical nightmare. Also, it is not that far off of what we have now, with all 12 teams. Our first round games are basically a play-in game. After that, it is three games in three nights to win the championship. If we must have a tournament, I have no problem with the 12 team format. After that, it's just a matter of where you play it. Any site, to be considered, must have the minimum required resources to host it. I think that my preference would be for member institutions to put in their bids, with some minimum monetary guarantee, and then have a committee of institution representatives decide on a 10 year rotation for the events. The men's and women's tournaments would not have to always be at the same venue. That way, every school, with the resources to host, would get there chance to host on a pre determined schedule, and any school not having the resources to host, would never have to worry about it. Problem solved. Schools could put up or shut up. :bad:

Once again, baller likes to jump off topic. There are many other threads discussing how to change the tourney. This thread is simple, are you going to Reno?

I personally am not. I will be at a local sports bar cheering my team on!
