Anyone read the Pictor Group report?

I guess everything open to interpretation, so the anti-athletics brigade will try to spin it, but it sure felt like they (more or less) concluded the university should stay in DI and maintain football. I was a little surprised more people didn't actually take their survey questions, but the overwhelming majority "strongly agreed" or "agreed" with staying FCS D-1 and with the Big Sky.

The other big piece I extracted is that they really see fundraising and revenue building as huge opportunities. The piece I wish they'd included is that lack of funds due to bad leadership at the university level is the biggest cause for all the problems. It's shocking that the school had such a desirable trajectory under Arevalo and that trajectory nose-dived the second he left.

It was definitely a interesting watch this morning. I agree with your statements.

I got a chuckle when I read the last sentence of first paragraph, p53. DUH!!!
Another felt that dropping football would not have a huge impact on the university other than the loss of national visibility and exposure, and reduced ability to attract students from out of state.

THAT IS AWESOME!!

I also read it including going over the surveys from the various study groups. The also wrote all the comments given from the different questions This question/comment was for current students. One comment struck me, it was Q11; How would you describe your experience at the athletic events you have attended? One supposed student commented; eastern sucks and our athletic dept is literally one of the worst depts in the entire school and one of the worst fucking athletic depts. in all D1 lol fuck you eastern you guys can eat a fat cock. especially the pampered and sheltered 7 million dollar deficit shit hole athletic dept. Lends credibility on who was filling out all these surveys..i found it quite amusing..lol

As far as the conclusion, it came across to me conveying the importance of playing D1 sports(football in particular) very beneficial for the image/branding/exposure it gives EWU overall. No brainer to me.

LOL... whatta loser. That person is a terrible representative of the university, and I'm appalled they bothered to write that.

If you want evidence of the importance of great athletics programs, look no further than the huge boost in enrollment Eastern got following the National Championship. Gonzaga is a great example of building great athletics and leveraging it to expand enrollment.

Dopa, LOL... whatta loser. That person is a terrible representative of the university, and I'm appalled they bothered to write that. here here to that!

My first thought that it was a Griz Infiltrator and how do they allow that to be printed(doubt anyone read that). And how do we know of all those survey groups they are what they claim(doubt it was even a student). lol

One of my pet peaves with Eastern is that they always need an outside consultant to do this, or a new committee to do that. At some point, leaders need to lead. If you want to cut athletics, do it and have the balls to own the decision (and it would be a terrible decision). If you're not going to make cuts to athletics, then say it's because it's the right thing to do. Trying to delegate a big decision is just a pussy way of trying to give yourself cover. Make a plan, work the plan, and be transparent and open about the objectives.
