App State Coach Jerry Moore Steps Down

Great coach indeed, something like 25 years and 3 National Championships. I hope it was truly a mutual decision and trust that the APP fans will give him the sendoff he deserves.

It sounds as if Coach Moore has been pushed aside. If that's true then it's a sad day for FCS football. As near as I can tell Coach Moore is one of the good guys. I'm sure that he could have gone to an FBS program, but he chose to stay at Appalachian State rather than take the big bucks in FBS land. That is the mark of a dedicated coach. We need more like him.
