APR's out for all sports. Football got a 935, which is good.

ISU, WSU, and PSU are are all being penalized in some way for their football APR score. ISU had a 888. :o

Looks like Hayford might have a little work to do - men's basketball seems a little low at 904, but PSU was lower at 901.

For all the scores, go here: http://web1.ncaa.org/maps/cVbnp9TaprRelease.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and just use the drop down menus.

List of penalties:

Division I teams that do not earn an Academic Progress Rate above specific benchmarks face penalties ranging from scholarship reductions to more severe sanctions.

Teams that score below 925 and have at least one student-athlete who both failed academically and left school can lose scholarships (up to 10 percent of their scholarships each year) under the immediate-penalty structure.

Teams with Academic Progress Rates below 900 face additional sanctions, increasing in severity for each consecutive year the team fails to meet the standard.

•Year 1: A public warning letter for poor performance
•Year 2: Restrictions on scholarships and practice time
•Year 3: Loss of postseason competition for the team (such as a bowl game or the men’s basketball tournament)
•Year 4: Restricted membership status for an institution. The school’s entire athletics program is penalized and will not be considered a part of Division I.

Kramer will turn that shit around stat. He isn't a guy who is afraid to kick a problem in the ass.

But that post-season ban hurts. I realize it would be almost incomprehensible to think Idaho State could or would compete for a Big Sky title next year, but just the fact that carrot isn't danlging out there at the beginning of the season if tough.

Kramers APR at MSU

2003-2004 878
2004-2005 869
2005-2006 848

It wasn't all his fault but we'll see if he can get a team out of trouble like his replacement at MSU had to do.

From all indications and statements by Kramer and ISU administration is that Kramer is recruiting kids whose grades exceed NCAA and ISU standards in order to get APR issue headed in the right direction. ISU is in such a big hole APR wise that is the only course left for them to take.

This.

ISU had 30 players get a 3.0 or better in the Spring. Good for them. Seems like they are very serious about solving the APR problems there.

I see Idaho State has a "championship ban." Does that mean they are ineligible to win the Big Sky?

Even if they won enough games to win it, I don't think they can claim the title under the current restrictions.
