Think it was a call within the rules. While I was standing there watching him carry on that very thought crossed my mind. "Too much Renard" and sure enough... flag!!. Yes it did cost us a TD that could have cost the game. With all of that said he is a game changer...when he wants to be. He totally disrupts the o-line and by the 4th qtr just takes over his man. Wow, what a nail bitting game. How many times did we try to give it away in the 4th qtr!! Are you kidding me, 4th and 18 from Webers own 30 and the QB about to be sacked just heaves a prayer into triple coverage and they come down with the ball?? Oh my gosh to say the least. BUT, The Eagle DEFENSE stepped up and stripped the ball, finally the football gods had had enough, haha! Great win, YOU GUYS and COACHES finally deserved this. I don't have a problem with being celebratory, the problem is that this isn't the first (or second, for that matter) time Renard has cost us a big play and 15 yards by doing this. I didn't think it was a good call, but c'mon, don't give the refs a reason to call that shit. You're up 24-7 and about to get the ball, that was essentially a 7 point penalty.
The "targeting the head" call might have been even worse. We were trying to make a play; it's not our fault the receiver dropped the pass and took a hit. I hate seeing refs call that BS... football is football and hits are part of the game.

The penalty wasn't the only error made in the game.
According to the media it's a signature move.
Just because there wasn't a play made doesn't mean there was no effort!
While it did result in a penalty, we did just win the game ... So let's be supportive and not negative!

Yeah, I agree. I guess what I should have said is that the rule, or at least the refs interpretation of it, is bullshit. I can understand getting flagged for taunting the other team, coaches, or fans.......but getting flagged for that is BS.
Big Sky refs have been horrible so far this season, and that's just another example. The 2nd GL and 3rd and GL plays at the Montana game, the non-existent PI against MSU........I'm sure there's a few others.

A win is a win. Renard has been doing the "Salute" the last couple years every time he gets a sack, so it is nothing new, the ref just took exception to it and threw the flag. I hated the penalty, but LOVED that he came to play and was unstoppable at times, seeing his emotion was great, even if it was a big penalty, but the refs need to understand, he has always saluted after he gets a sack.
Regardless...we won!!!
