Around the FCS 11/15

I really don't want NAU in the playoffs this year. They will simply embarass us. ISU, MSU, and Cal Poly would all represent the Big Sky better than NAU.

Yeah, I don't buy NAU as a quality playoff team right now. Give one of the other teams the chance. I think things are going to be all mixed up by the end of next weekend, and this game is just a preview of that. I've got them popcorn finished and i'm sitting back to enjoy the carnage.

Jacks winning out increases our chances at a high seed .

Eh, I really don't believe that.

The FCS Wedge had former Selection Committee Chair, Jim O'Day on last week and he talked about how the committee uses every bit of information at their disposal including strength of schedule, quality wins and losses, Massey and Sagarin. Massey and Sagarin are the two most prominent sources of SOS and Massey is also a composite of human polls.

Trust me, NAU's rise in the human polls as well as Massey, Sagarin, and committee's own evaluation of SOS is important for our seeding.

SUU vs Montana just started up. Montana starts with the ball and SUU lays two HUGE sacks onto Johnson. Looks like SUU is going to play Montana really tough.

NAU getting exposed for what they really are - a team that fluked their way into a 1st place tie in the Big Sky.

Kind of a catch-22 going on here. We really need NAU to win out to help make our case for a top seed. Conversely, NAU losing increased our chances of winning the Big Sky outright exponentially. The other part of that is that I think there's 3 other teams that would be better representatives of the Big Sky in the playoffs (ISU, MSU, CP) than NAU would.

SUU blocks a Montana fieldgoal and returns it into Montana territory. Both teams have a failed field goal attempt.

The SUU backup quarterback looks pretty good. Has an accurate arm.

Edit: Aaaand as I type that, he throws an interception.

SUU mascot, Thor, is very creepy.
