CHENEY — Renard Williams is sick and tired of seeing double, but he’s managed to remain clearly focused on the ultimate goal.

Williams, enjoying another banner season at Eastern Washington despite constant double-teaming, aims to push the top-ranked Eagles one step closer to the Football Championship Subdivision national title when Eastern hosts No. 21 North Dakota State on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Williams, an NFL prospect at defensive tackle, has seen his stats drop from last year due to all the double teams. However, the former South Kitsap High School standout made the All-Big Sky Conference first team for the second straight year, and coaches and teammates say Williams is better than ever.

Nice article, He really is a "beast". There are not too many plays when he does not have some impact. The stat sheets do not give him the credit he deserves.
Go Eags

One of the big reasons that our D has been so solid all year is because of the D-line. By having guys who occupy 2 and 3 o-linemen, it frees our LBs up to run around and make plays. Also, the pressure they provide, whether they get a sack or not, causes the QB to rush his read progression, allowing for lots of opportunities for INTs. Keep it up in the trenches boys! Even though Renard played at my rival high school, I love it when guys from the (old) Narrows league ball out! Go Eags!

Renard is a beast for sure. What's the deal with Jolley for this weekend?

Haven't heard. My guess is unless it's going to fall off, he'll find a way onto the field. Kid is tough and he bleeds Eagle football, so I know he'll do everything possible to get out there with his brothers.

Props to Renards mom too. She's the best fan you'll ever see. You can't miss her at the games, and you don't have to listen all that hard to hear her on the broadcasts. You can tell she gets great joy out of watching her son and his teamates play the game.

What an outstanding Eagle family.
