Sweet story about our 02-03 squad. Great memories!!

I remember listening to this game with Bengalhater and literally freaking out after Barton had that steal, and right away, hit a 3pointer to get Weber back in the game. Our cheerleaders were at the game and after they rushed their court and danced on their mascot at center court. My buddy, who was Waldo at the time, told me that Eastern demanded an apology from the school and told our AD that Weber's cheerleaders were never allowed to return to Reese court. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. I'm pretty sure Bengalhater, myself, and a group of esteemed gentlemen rushed to the tree and drank a dew that night.

Greatest Semester EVER!! 17 Straight!! Catcat and I sold shirts for WSUSA, gave most away to the ladies, before the championship game so that we could see a sea of purple, which happened (only time I have seen the student section completely sold out...it was amazing, and everyone was in purple!!). Ah yes!! the memories!! To bad Weber doesn't have much of a Greek System anymore. Greeks really helped build excitment and pride in the school. I know that the Sigma Chi's, Pikes, SAEs, and the Sigma Gammas, were always well represented at the games. Each organization helped get fans to the games that season. It was a huge success...look at our crowds.

DAMN PROUD!!

What is your best experience Weber State faithful? 02-03 had a lot for me. My brothers and I, while putting up signs for Rush week listened to Weber's come from behind win at NAU too, when Stevie Morrison hit a three in the corner to preserve the win streak and keep the Cats moving forward. Also, Catcat, Bengalhater, myself, and a bunch of my brothers went up to Bozeman where Weber destroyed the bobs and Jumpin Joe crowd surfed through the Weber State section after the game.

I think some bob gal tried to fight bengalhater after the game. He was truly turned on.

02-03 was the year I met catcat and bengalhater aka "the stain" for the first time. I met the stain duing the EWU championship game. I was like "who is this crazy guy," then months later becomes one of my best friends. Then on the bus to Spokane I meet catcat. We were all trying to sleep and he keep talking and talking and talking. I thought he wanted to beat me up because I was wearing my Wazzu hat. lol. Good times. That was the first time I saw the movie Pootie Tang. LOLOLOLO

POOTIE TANG!!! :coffee: :coffee: CELTIC PRIDE!!! :coffee: :coffee: DOUG HARRIS!!! :coffee: :coffee: SPOKANE!!! BOZEMAN WITH TIANA!!! :coffee: :coffee: DJ STRYDE!!! AND DETERMINING WHICH ONE OF THE BERGER TWINS WAS GAY!!! :coffee: :coffee: LOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

Brad Barton always knew he was on a short life leash because of his diabetes and one of his requests was to have his funeral at the Dee. Weber State complied and hosted a wonderful life celebration for him a couple of years ago. I'll never forget Cravens, who was one of the main speakers, getting up and with no notes telling Barton stories. Most of those stories centered around this winning streak which Brad often called the 3 perfect months of his life. My favorite was how Barton would often wait to give himself his pregame insulin injection during warm-ups. Then sit on the visitor bench, so the opposition could see him, and plunge the needle in his leg while staring at the other team with a defiant and slightly crazed look.

That was a great team, but there's not doubt the heart and soul of that group was Brad Barton. He couldn't play long minutes, but every minute he played, he played all out. Crazy kid, perfect team for him. And Coach Craven's tribute was one of the finest farewell talks I've ever heard.
