Another tough road challenge tonight against those dirty dawgs. The team has struggled but they are improving and should be well rested. When are we going to see Peatling and Beo? Don't want to rush their healing but would be nice to get all the depth back on the court and playing together as that is so important from a consistency standpoint. The freshmen have been playing a lot of minutes and I think have all performed well.

Holy shnikes, you guys suck. Another blowout loss. GoldenShower, none of your players have performed well. Quit pretending. Wake up and smell the coffee. Not a single Eag player would be in the Griz’s 7-man rotation. You have 5 more straight losses in front of you before you’ll sniff a win against “Walla Walla” U. You. Guys. Suck.

At times the EAGS played solid tonight but obviously struggled against a very athletic and hot shooting husky team. The EAGS shot better in the second half and Jesse Hunt had another good game. They really miss Mason Peatling and his return will improve this team dramatically.

This was another learning experience that will pay dividends once BSC play begins. I have confidence that Shantay Legans will have this team vastly improved for league play.. Hopefully when they get everyone healthy, they stay healthy.

I admit to not being the most astute observer of basketball, but what is going on here?

These games are blowouts within a few minutes and over by halftime. Has Eastern just taken a huge step backward? I don't expect to win many of these types of games, but Eastern has played the Huskies and similar teams tough many times, and this year we just seem to be getting curb stomped.

Dopa, Me neither what I am befuddled by is the poor shooting. Listening to Larry Weir it sounds like a lot of shots are open but players just aren't hitting them. Last night we shot under 29%, for the season the Eagles are under 33%. The current players did not forget how the shoot a basketball over the off season so what could be the problem?

The EAGS were playing with a very small lineup, four guards and Jesse Hunt at forward. UW was playing a zone that they were extending forcing the EAGS to take long and contested threes. That is exactly what the zone is suppose to do, force deep shots and cut off the passing lanes which reduce shooting percentages. Our guards are good shooters when they have open looks.

Our guards are simply not athletic enough to consistently drive and penetrate that zone effectively. With no threat of guard penetration, UW was able to extend the zone because the EAGS had no other forward or center in the paint near the basket. Jesse Hunt was on an island and only able to get shots from the high post near the foul line. He hit a lot of shots from the foul line area. Our other freshmen forwards aren't ready to challenge Pac12 bigs in the paint. So, we need Mason Peatling in the lineup so we can put two forwards in the paint and force teams to defend the paint.

So that begs the question, where are these difference-maker players that can help us out? Do we have them? Are we not recruiting to the right positions?

Obviously, these are some tough teams we're playing early, so you can't just write the team off. But you can't sweep these lopsided losses under the rug either.

I haven't heard when we get these players back but getting Peatling back is going to make a huge difference. We will be able to play inside out instead of being so predictable. Eags were picked fourth in the conference for a reason. I could see them finishing anywhere between 3rd and 6th. Nothing really matters in the Big Sky anyway except that you're playing your best basketball going into the tournament. I mean seriously... Since the Big Sky decided not to give the conference regular season Champion home court advantage...the regular season has become meaningless. I do understand that the top four teams get a first round bye but what a shame for the team that finishes in first place.
