Athlon's Preseason FCS Poll

Go 7-1 in league or go 6-2 in league with a win against UNLV or BSU and we are in the playoffs. Tough Tough Schedule this season. It may come down how good our starting QB will be this season! I cannot believe Justin Arias did not get a try out with an NFL team or did not get picked up by a Canadian team. Maybe, he will play Arena football.

Would be great for the Idaho State Journal or athletic website to give an update on Arias. An ISJ article earlier this spring said he was attending a camp with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders. The CFL has a deal that if Arias is still pursuing the NFL, then he can't contact other CFL teams. If he tells Calgary that he is no longer pursuing the NFL, then Calgary has something like 10 days to either offer him a contract or release him to talk with other CFL teams. I bet he's still pushing for the NFL, and will probably attend somebody's training camp this summer.

According to the latest Sporting News football magazine, North Dakota State is ranked #1 in the country, EWU #5, MSU #9, ISU is ranked #13, Montana is #15, and NAU is #22. Very good representation from the BSC teams! ISU's Josh Cook is the preseason 1st team All-American at tight end. Also the magazine predicted that the league teams should finish this way:

1. EWU
2. MSU
3. ISU
4. Montana
5. NAU
6. Cal Poly
7. Sac State
8. Southern Utah
9. Weber State
10. UND
11. UC Davis
12. No. Colorado
13. PSU

At least the media have a little more respect for ISU after we played so well last season!

The "NCAA FCS Coaches Polls" on January 12, 2015 did not have ISU in the top 25.

The "NCAA Sports Network" on January 12, 2015 ranked ISU at #25

The "NCAA FCS Simple Rating System" on January 12, 2015 ranked ISU at #19

The "NCAA FCS Sports Network" on May 13, 2015 ranked ISU at #13

Athlon Preseason Polls on May 26, 2015 ranked ISU #18

Sporting News football magazine on June 13, 2015 ranked ISU #13

The best part about this season is ISU will start ranked and the BSC title has to come threw Pocatello. The hardest game this seasons will be @calpolly.
