I didn't stand up and look around at the end of the game, but after the MSU people left our section early, it still seemed to be a larger than normal PSU game. I like the fact that they've closed off the end zone, it puts more people in a concentrated area. I pay attention to the people around me, and the man and woman in front of us were less watching the game, than drinking beers and laughing at their own jokes but they had a good time(they weren't being obnoxious), they stayed the whole game and I'm sure will tell the people at work on Monday how much fun they had.
There was a dad and son and I heard the dad say this was his son's first game. There were others that you could tell didn't know who all (or any) the players were, but they were just as excited as others. It will build, but it will take time. It doesn't hurt when the Ducks play a late game either. I mentioned before but I really think it's worth noting: The student section was definitely larger than past years and the students stayed. I remember when my daughters were at PSU and after the first game (where they plan going to the game as an activity for incoming Freshmen) the student section would decrease every week. I think there may be a good number of students at the Montana game.
