Aug 23 Fan Fest Cancelled?

Has anyone heard about the status of the annual fan-fest and scrimmage? It appears the info has been unceremoniously removed from the website. And last Saturday's scrimmage is being covered as the final pre-season scrimmage. I am from out of state and skipped that scrimmage, because I was planning on there being one on the 23rd.

Still happening, according to Weber's website. But it's being called a fan event and there won't be a scrimmage, just a practice. Sounds pretty lame to me.

The Weber State football team will wrap up fall camp and begin preparations for the 2014 season this Saturday with a fan event. The WSU Wildcat Club will host a “Chalk Talk” with new head coach Jay Hill beginning at 9 a.m. on the fourth floor of Stewart Stadium. Coach Hill will talk to Wildcat fans about fall camp and look ahead to the season. All Wildcat fans are invited to attend.

Following Coach Hill’s talk, the Wildcats will practice on the field from 9:30-11:30 a.m. All WSU practices are open to the fans. The WSU Spirit Squad and Waldo will also be in attendance at the practice. Inflatable bounce houses and obstacle courses will be set up for the kids and free Wildcat schedule cards and posters will also be available.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, that sounds a little early for this. Over by noon — seems like that's when it usually started. Sigh. Will have to hit the road extra early Saturday morning to make this quote unquote Event.

I think I heard that the coaching staff was going to do the scrimmage but decided against it with the game on thursday instead of Sat. So instead of scrapping the whole thing they decided to do a practice and a "chalk talk" but Im not fully sure if that is 100% why it was changed
