Ba Bye reNO!

Well the 3rd and final year of the experiment gone bad named reNO is upon us. Although I don't think we have much of a chance to win this thing, I do think that this will be one of the most competitive conference tournaments we have seen in a very long time. I think Montana, Idaho or Eastern could very easily come out on top. Weber, Northern Colorado and Portland State are all very capable of pulling off upsets against the top 3. I really think you are going to see some highly contested games, from round one to the championship. The womens side looks competitive as well. If you are a fan of mid major basketball reNO is the place for you for the next 5 days. You will likely have to stay in a smokey hotel/casino where the smoke magically reaches your non-smoking room on the 15th floor and of course you will need to keep your wallet securely in your front pocket as you dodge a few sketchy people on your way to the arena. The good news is: it's the last time. So why not go and enjoy the culmination of one of the most competitive years of Big Sky basketball?

You are absolutely right. Out of the three years, this might be the best chance to watch, from top to bottom, good basketball.

You could certainly OD on basketball this week. The basketball will be good, but even the hardiest of fans would have a hard time seeing it all. In Reno, the river walk/run is a great place to go to get away from the strip/crap. The hotel/casinos are sort of meh, if you ask me. Go find the out of the way places when you are not watching a game. :coffee:

anyone on this board going to reno? ill be there so if anyone is going we will be among the few sitting by each other.

Cats will play UNC during game 2 on Thursday. Gonna have to play a heck of a game to beat them. It took slight miracles the last two times to beat them and we all know how hard it is to beat a team 3 times. Hope the bye doesnt make us rusty.

Has anybody noticed the 'crowds' in Reno? I think you could count them on one hand. :yikes:

Yeah they are pretty awful, i think ISU has had the biggest crowd so far. Also Montana State choked big time today.

Spent two consecutive weeks there for work in the spring of 2016 and this is spot on. Every night I would go to bed wondering how an entire floor many floors up from the HVAC intakes could consistently reek like an ashtray.

im driving to ReYES today. its 4 hours from my home village if traffic isn't bad. i should be easy to spot on camera even wearing a wsu shirt

CatCat suddenly comes back from a 4 year biking sabbatical and thinks that he can turn reNO into reYES. Unbelievable. You may be one of the only fans in the building, wearing purple or not. ZI hope Boise is getting excited for this large scale event coming to their town next year!

Cats play Northern Colorado today at 3:35 MST. Hope the Cats can get a win. Sacramento State proved it's tough to beat a team 3 times in a season but Weber can do it. It'll take a great effort from the boys to get it done as we all know what Northern Colorado is capable of. Should be a good one.

GO CATS!

Well, bring on the cubbies! I was telling flylikeasparrow that this was one of the teams I did not want to face, but then again, everyone left I really don't want to face. So, lets hope the guys have rested up a bit and are ready to get after it. Besides, Pattenjr, wazzu and sir velo are pervin on our dancers. I'm sure there will be some pictures of cheerleaders or dancers on weberhoops instagram. Keep it classy guys!

I think we have a good chance at winning this tournament. Wouldnt be too shocked if we did. Might need some help from other teams, but it is possible.

I agree, if we are hitting our shots, the Cats could potentially run teams out of the gym, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we end up losing today.

While the Big Suck Conference gets Pultotv for these games, the mighty WAC gets all their game on ESPN3.....

Game is going how I feard it would. Bears are hot and we look lost. We've had miraculous comebacks against these guys before but im not thinking it will happen this time.

Same thing, except that everyone in the world can get Pluto for free. I don't get ESPN3 unless I go to the local pub.
