SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Sacramento State baseball team hit three home runs and swept Hawai’i with a 10-2 win on Sunday at John Smith Field in its final Western Athletic Conference game of the regular season.

The Hornets (29-23, 11-7 WAC) sit in second place in the WAC standings after scoring 10 runs on 12 hits with no errors and sweeping a conference foe for the first time since 2008, when they also swept Hawai'i at home. In fact, Sacramento State is 11-1 against the Rainbows at home since winning the final contest of a three-game series in 2007.

They clinched a berth in the WAC tournament with their win over Fresno State in the previous WAC series.

Looks like we could be the WAC Regular Season Champs if Hawaii wins 2 of 3 vs Nevada and SJSU takes at least one from NMSU.

Great job by Coach Christensen and the team this year to get to this point. Amazing season!

Go Hornets!!!

It took two years for Coach Christensen to take this program to respectibility. We have several prospects and the future holds more promise than it ever did under the old man!

Well if you look who Coach C is primarily recruiting, its high school kids. Smith always preferred JC guys more. That's a symptom from all those years in D2 when you do rely on a ton of JC kids.

Anyways, nice to see the program finally come alive at the D-I level now.
