As a fan, this was one of the more frustrating seasons in recent memory for me. The team looked great in December beating Seattle, Utah State and Boise State in a ten day period. Then the team really struggled in conference play losing games that they should have won.
The fact that they are in the championship is something I would not had guessed four weeks ago.
The Big Sky has got to be loving this, Newlee and Idaho against his replacement Seton and ISU.
This is going to be very interesting with an NCAA berth on the line and the way Jon left ISU and the past few games all of which have been blowouts for the home team since the Vandals got back into the conference.
Doesn't bother me a bit, but I do know it bothered a number of ISU fans with his public and private comments when he left. As I've said on the air 'Jon didn't burn his bridges when he left, he napalmed them...'
My point being, which apparently you missed, was that the way he left adds spice to whatever is going to happen tomorrow and that will remain as long as he is at UI. Also for what it's worth to you I was told by the coaching staff that they got a lot of e-mails and text messages after they blew Idaho out a few weeks ago.
Obviously it means something to someone doesn't it? Seriously...LOL.
And I have a good relationship with Jon, he always treated me well when I covered games when he was coaching and we always talk before and after games to this day.
