POCATELLO, Idaho- In the first scrimmage of spring practice, the Idaho State offense showed they are going to be a team that loves to throw the ball as Kevin Yost and Kyle Morris combined to throw 58 passes, completing 37 for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

“There is a seven letter word that defines it and that is perfect,” Idaho State coach Mike Kramer said. “That is what we want, a hint of a running game but mostly throwing the ball so everyone can see what we are doing.”

Did anyone else go to the scrimmage? The Benavides injury didn't look good at all. I hope the kids okay. Not a lot of looks deep downfield.

Wonder what everyone else thoughts are on the first scrimmage.

Channel 6 just posted video with the Benavides injury up close. There's also the full interview with Kramer.

went to the scrimmage...glad to hear the injury is just a "high ankle sprain".....a lot of months to heal up....sprinkling of fans...maybe 50 to 60 scattered....but Kramer was very involved and even "hands on" in several instances...mostly on the field...deep behind the offense....watching and teaching...taking time to step into the trenches and reposition players...on both sides of the ball....mentoring...when he was on the sidelines...he was always interacting with them...both defense and offense....giving fives and encouragement...he IS building respect and confidence in these young men.....some who probably, in reality, will lose their starting spots this fall to incoming recruits.....but in watching the scrimmage and how these young men perform and want to succeed for ISU ....i WILL come back in for the second half of the games this coming year.....and i can't say that was always true last fall........GO BENGALS!!
