Bengals Fail to Crack Stats Poll

ISU is 27th in today’s Stats Poll, 108 points out of the 25th spot occupied by Princeton.

I voted ISU 19th on my ballot and dropped Montana out of the top 25. Don’t know how you can vote Montana, who just lost at home to Portland State, ahead of an ISU team that crushed the same Idaho team that beat Portland State. The Grizzlies stayed in the top 25, however.

UC Davis, who the Bengals play Saturday, moved up to 14.

Top 25 is tough to crack into. I'm sure it has a lot to do with consistency and history. In any case, we just need to keep doing what we do...win games!

Not surprisingly Tanner Gueller was Big Sky Offensive POTW. Just waiting for National Award announcement. BTW Tanner got a “helmet sticker” on ESPN this weekend but they had no ISU helmets on set so they stuck it on a generic helmet. ISU needs to get one of those cool tiger striped helmets they broke out on Saturday to Bristol pronto.

Reputation has a lot to do with the polls. ISU hasn't been there in so long, many voters say, "who the hell are these guys? Are they for real..." Perception, fair or not becomes reality. Win next week (and it will be tough) and they'll be in.
