After taking his talents to Modesto Junior College and investing them with a bowl championship club, Sierra High graduate Jarrod Daniels will continue his climb into the NCAA Division I ranks after signing on to attend Idaho State University on a football scholarship.

Daniels closed out his high school career at Sierra by earning a spot on the CalHiSports.com all-state medium-schools team after an impressive 2009 senior year. When the right four-year commitment never worked out for Daniels he opted for MJC, where in one season he led the Pirates in rushing and helped the 8-3 squad finish ranked No. 8 in Northern California.

I think the videos and all the awards/accolades speak for themselves.

I found a comment from Troy Fast the Dean & Counselor at Manteca HS. This in regards to the Manteca Bulletin article. IMO this speaks to the intangibles that that can't be overlooked and will serve this student athlete well.

" When I first moved down to Manteca (When Jarrod was an 8th grader or so), I was able to observe Jarrod and his brother lifting weights with their old man day in and day out at 24 Hr Gym. When he was having all the success in High school, I saw him many times at 5 am riding the bike or swimming in the pool when 98 % of the other athletes were in bed. But even more impressive, I saw him sitting in the front row at church almost EVERY Sunday. Well done Jarrod, many great memories to come."

SJS would have benefited from his services but we're in dire straights for O and D lineman as well as a QB.

I just found out that Upland HS Calif. WR/DB Dilan Clark, who's 5'9", 155 lbs., has just committed to play football for ISU. A teammate of his, QB Justin Nunez, has agreed to play for Cal-Davis. And another teammate, kicker Jacob Van Ginkel, has just committed to play for Boise State.
