Bengals Still in Playoff Picture!

The Bengals are STILL strongly in the post-season playoff picture with a win over Weber State! The "unwritten "7" win rule went out the window with the expansion of the playoffs to 24 teams from 18. It is now a "6" D-1 win minimum, plus maybe even as low as 5 in extraordinary circumstances.

Jeff Tingey will talk about it in detail in his next podcast, which may go online later today, and I'll post it here, as well.

Only way I can see this happening is if the Sagarin or Massey ratings come into play.

I would say that it is highly unlikely. But if Montana State beats Montana, I suppose ISU could be the third team in from the BSC.

Again I have to go back to what Mike Kramer said in his postgame interview about the possibility. He should know better than anyone else what the chances are.

Whatever happens it will have been a very good season for ISU.

The next step in the process will be to continue to have good seasons in multiple years.

I can also tell you that the selection committee has its own ranking system, and as of last week, ISU was very high on the list...compared to what you all might think.

Thanks VOTB! I like the enthusiasm. I 100% agree and believe we can still make it with a win over weber kitties. They will look at strength of schedule and should look at a -8 point total loss playing a ranked E.Washington and a ranked MSU. A win over a ranked Cal Poly too.

I think if we win convincingly over weber kitties we get a shot. I'm with the Root Sports announcers...How can you leave this up and coming ISU team out of playoffs and Kramer should get Coach of the year. Go Bengals!
