Best Case 2010 Scenario

I just checked everyone's remaining schedule. The best we can hope for is a mad scramble at the end, with many teams finishing 5-3 in conference. The problem is that we lose head-to-head with both Montana and Montana State.

The only way we make the playoffs with our record is to win league, and thanks to EWU, that is now impossible. UGH!!!

EWU goes to Portland and have Idaho State at home. Hard to see them less than 6-2, probably going to be 7-1. Montana should beat Weber, and the Montana State game at home is a toss-up. So, again, hard to see them less than 6-2. Montana State has Idaho St, Weber (home) and Montana. Again, looking at at least 6-2. NAU has Sac, NCU (road), Weber and Portland. Could be 6-2 or 5-3, maybe even 4-4. Odd to be at this point in the season and have teams with such different number of league games.

if the favored teams win out, the BigSky could have 4 teams with 8 wins (EWU, Montana with 9, MSU and NAU with 8). Four playoff teams?

Its possible if Herrick comes back for NAU. If he's out this weekend, I think we have a good shot and probably kill any playoff hopes they may have.

As SD pointed out in his game writeup, you do have the history of NAU's late season collapses to fold in. That's just such a tough place to pull out a win. At least the weather is supposed to be okay (sunny, mid 50's).
