Best Mac moments

When he called out Bobby Hauck on the chop block.

When he laughed at Missoula reporters when they asked him if the crowd at WGS was the reason they lost.

Both wins over the Griz

2 playoff appearances in a row.

2008 Big Sky conf Championship

I could go on, but I think there are too many to count

The Cal Poly game in 2008; Mac was all pumped up when he came running to the stands after the game, man he was so flushed i thought he was going to have heart attack, but you gotta love him:

Mac: Did you see that f-ing game? Did you, did you?
Me: Yeah, Mac, we showed 'em who Weber State is....
Mac: That's football baby, that's how you win games...damn, did you see that?
Me: Good job coach, hell of a win, coach
Mac: It's not me, it's all of these players, they wanted it more than the other team, and it showed...what a game!!!!

and there are other memories, like when the team in 2008 was leaving Waikiki beach after having a mini luau, the sun was setting, soft tradewind breezes blowing, rainbow over the mountains, surf breaking, bikini clad girls walking around and the boys were loading the bus to get their flight back home, it was almost surreal...almost like something in a movie

Mac: this was a good thing, lot of these boys will never get back here to Paradise, thanks for making them feel special

Me: No worries, Coach, thanks for taking care of the boys, you guys deserve only the best coach

Mac: No, this is special, real special, these islands, the people, no where else in the world.....

Me: Love you coach, we got your back, God Bless and God Speed.......

and coach Mac stepped up on the bus, looked back at the setting sun, took a deep breath, gave me that 'Coach Mac smile', looked a little teary eyed, and said "Aloha, see you in Ogden', and got up on the bus and left.

Coach Mac has always been a class act, I have only love and respect for that man and he is the reason that our son will be getting his degree, nuf sed.

Listening to him during the press conference in Missoula when he called out the Montana fans seriously busted my sides. They were drilling him with questions about how hard it is to play with the Griz crowd around and he basically told them to get over themselves and Montana hasn't seen shiz when it comes to big crowds.

I have many fond Mac moments from attending all 48 games when my son was playing for Mac from 2006 - 2009. I had the pleasure to get to know Mac very well during those 4 seasons. He had a tremendous influence on my son and our entire family. He is a great coach and a fantastic person. He really cares about all of his players and their families.

My favorite Mac moment was when my son was a senior in high school during recruiting season. Mac and Jake came to our house on a recruiting visit and sat in our living room and talked for almost 2 hours. Mac talked about how he would make sure our son would get a great education if he chose to play at Weber St. He also told us many stories about how successful his former players had become after graduation. He amazed us with the details about his former players and how he has kept in touch with many of them over the years. Mac out-recruited every other coach we talked to during our son's recruiting visits. After Mac sat in our living room that evening, my wife and I instantly knew that playing for coach Mac would be the best choice for our son. We were relieved when our son decided to play for Mac and the rest is history!
