Long time reader first time poster. As a former EWU student I have followed the basketball program and the coaching carousel for the past 10 years. As a distant fan I think that Coach Hayford has squeezed the most out of this team as possible. They have played a tough non conference schedule and played them away from their home court. He returned zero all-conference players from a team that won 10 games the previous season and won a home playoff game. He then had the Griz on the ropes in the conference semifinals on their home court. His fundraising efforts are being noticed on the recruiting trail and at Reece court.

After reading previous posts I am concerned why an "old time eagle alum" just created an account after the previous coach was fired?? Maybe they are the same person??

Lol. Who cares? Using that logic, you say u've been a distant fan for ten years. Our new coach has been been in the area for ten years. Could Red eagle be the same person? Too funny. We should all have to post our identities.

Regardless, it doesn't matter. Coach Hayford/red bird is doing a good job and next year we should compete for the title with the recruits he has coming in.

Sorry - I have been away for a while enjoying the sun. I can see that I was missed!. After being on here for awhile as a casual observer who took the posts with a grain of salt, I decided to begin posting last spring because I got pissed about the previous coach getting the ziggy. Maybe because I was kinda close to the program, it was very obvious to me that we were turning the corner, and with all of the players returning, I thought it was the wrong time to make a change. Given the program that he inherited, the lousy contract that he was given, the worst economic conditions in our country in the last 75 years, and an athletic director who didnt hire him, I didnt think (and I still dont think) that THREE recruiting classes was enough - especially given how good the final 2 classes were. On the bright side, the new seats look great. Hopefully it wont be 30 years before the next improvement to the facility. Reeese should be the 3rd best facility in the Big Sky, but there is still a lot of work to do before a recruit will walk in there and believe we are committed to winning. Hopefully, times they are a-changin

As an alum of this school who actually donates to the program, I'm excited to see the future of EWU men's basketbal.

Great post. Although there are kernals of truth in nearly every post on here no matter the author. It is good to see the EWUTicketOffice weighing in with their opinion on this blog in an official capacity on behalf of the AD and department. Keep giving it to anyone that has an opinion contrary to us loyal alumni. The Eagles are going to soar next year!

Come on EWUTicketOffice!!! You edited a perfectly good post. I like how you were giving it to OldTime. It was a good quip and accurate. Please put it back up!
