Big Sky 2020 -2023 schedule RELEASED

Does anyone else find it odd that in 2021, 2022, and 2023, our games against Eastern Washington are no longer the last game of the year? The dates are: 9/25/21 at Cheney; then 10/22/22 at Hillsboro; then 10/21/23 at Cheney. Wonder what the backroom thinking was there...

In 2020, our first home game isn't until 9/26/20 against MSU, and we don't have another home game until 10/17/20 (when we then host 3 home games in a row).

And, in 2022, we do not play a home game at all until October 1!

Of course, other games may fill in the open weekends in September, but still...

Eastern just released the same information on conference games and whatever non-con games are currently scheduled. Portland State is now a mid-season opponent. Idaho joining the league really f'd everything up. The best way to deal with that is for the rest of the conference to put a beating on them. Based on what they looked like in 2018, that's already started.

Eastern's schedule for 2020 opens with a game in the Swamp against the Gators, but with homes games against Western Illinois, NAU, Montana, Idaho, Weber State, and Montana State. It's the most marketable home schedule Eastern has probably ever had. Now we just need a stadium makeover before 2020.

BTW, is Hillsboro now your home venue? It's actually not that bad of a place, but it suffers from the same issue Roos Field does with being so weirdly asymmetrical. If you could get 4-5,000 seats on the opposite side, it would be a great stadium. The issue, I'd assume, is being a downtown school and playing way out in the 'burbs.

At lease Roos Field is on campus. Trying to get the students to a game in Hillsboro is similar to trying to get the EWU kids to Spokane for a game. It can be done, but it take some thinking to do it.

There is talk about PSU jumping on the bandwagon to build a football venue for the city high schools downtown, but that is at least 5 years away.

Might take some doing and a lot of support from the city, but that Lincoln High Field could probably be converted into a decent venue of 10k+. I have absolutely no idea where a stadium would fit other than that. It's not like land downtown is easy to find, let alone buy and develop.
