Big Sky Attendance Figures

Hi all,

Just wrote up a post... but Big Sky attendance was up on average last year! 18 out of 31 conferences, averaging a shade over 2,500 per game. Weber State was again first, averaging almost 6,500 per game (next highest was Montana at 4,005).

Good work Jon!

If we want to grow the BSC brand in basketball, facilities and attendance will need to improve. Hats off to those schools who are doing something to be part of the solution. For those who are standing still, doing nothing, you are part of the problem. Get with it. Become part of the solution.

It looks to me like our newest members have already become part of the solution. Welcome aboard. Lets get this thing rolling. Lets grow our brand. Lets get the better facilities, attendance, recruits, and assets.

We all need to get more excited about our teams, attend all of our home games, bring 50 of our closest friends, and go on more road trips. Excitement breeds more excitment. Momentum is everything. :thumb:

Looks good...thank you Jon. Love reading your blog.

As for Weber and attendance. Is there anyway that Cats attendance improves from last year? I hope so, but without Damian, I'm thinking the figures might dip a bit, at first. Having BYU at the Dee next year will give the Cats a great shot at having 10K at a game, and if the Cats challenge for the Big Sky crown, which I'm sure will happen, that'll help out a lot. Kinda a bad year for home games though. Weber has to go to UT-Arlington and is on the road for the Bracket Buster too. We know the Cats will be up in Logan next year and there is a possibility that Weber will be playing the Utes at the Huntsman Center (slight chance). We all know that there will be a tourny and a money game. So, it isn't looking to good for home games next year. Maybe 14, if we are lucky. 10 Conference, UC Irvine and BYU and a couple of beats.

I don't believe that people were comming just to see Damian. I think it was the whole package. If we are able to win some high profile games, people will get excited again, and attendance will go up. The USU win was big for us last year. A BYU win will be big for us this year. Road wins help, but home games rule the day.
