Got to love the picture they use to represent the Big Sky:

Is it too early to start talking conference?

Some thoughts...

UM looks just like last year at this point. Talent, but they can't get on the same page. I thought they'd beat Santa Clara at home.

NAU doesn't look good at all thus far.

ISU is better than their record. Three straight OT losses are tough. They'll be there at the end I suspect.

Sac State. They *may* get a win in 2008.

EWU. A little surprising at this point considering what they had coming back. Maybe Earlywine is all that.

WSU. Tough schedule thus far. We should know more in a couple of weeks.

MSU. Strong road wins. Well, is Oregon State really a strong road win. Pac-10, I guess. Loss at Nevada, yet UP beat them.

UNC. Not sure who caught this game earlier in the year, but UNC played Oregon very tough in The Pit. Fluke? Maybe, but I think these guys are going to be on the BSC radar sooner rather than later.

PSU. Us? What can I say. ;-) One free throw away from being 6-0. :-)

I mostly agree, Marty. Montana can be forgiven for losing to Duke, but they lost to Utah Valley, Santa Clara and Colorado State too. And Montana State beating OSU?! Robinson's inherited a terrible couple years of recruiting; they'll be at the pit of the Pac-10 this year again. Beating them is nothing to brag about. MSU couldn't do it against Nevada or Boise State; they'll be in the middle of the pack again.

I think UNC is pretty solid this year. I see them filling the proverbial "team nobody wants to play in the BSC tourny" role.
