Montana State 9-2
Eastern Washington 9-2
Cal Poly 7-4
Montana 7-4
UC Davis 6-5
Sacramento State 6-5
Weber State 6-5
Northern Arizona 6-5
Southern Utah 6-5
Northern Colorado 3-8
North Dakota 3-8
Portland State 2-9
Idaho State 1-10

I included the future football members and where they fell based on who they played in the BSC this year and their own Great West schedule. All but the bottom 4 teams had a legitimate chance of making the playoffs this year. That's 9 teams with a record of 6-5 or better. With the new conference format starting in 2012, I can easily see the Big Sky surpassing the CAA as the premier FCS conference in the country. I also see us getting 4-5 teams into the playoffs every year.

Just to be clear, NO ONE is joining ths conference next season, correct? Everything is status quo until 2012?

We have a home-home with Cal Poly scheduled for next season, which doesn't make any sense because we have a road game with them next year and then they become a conference opponent. Do they, then, have to buy-out the return visit? Or do we just get screwed?

Yep - 2012 will be the first season under the new format, although the former Great West schools will start being worked into Big Sky schedules next year (nothing really new there).
