There are some interesting games this weekend. It appears that this weekend might prove who truly are contenders and who the pretenders are. I went with Cal Poly vs. UND.

I concur with 01eag. With Cal poly's win over UM and ND's easy schedule the winner is looking at a strong possibility to contend for BSC title. ND doesn't play us or UM and Cal Poly's game vs EWU on 11/5 looms huge and is most likely the toughest remaining after this week.

SUU always turns into a head scratcher. It always seems to be impossible to predict how their season will turn out. They are either top dogs or piles of garbage and it changes on a whim.

SUU vs Montana is important, because I think either Montana or SUU or both are imposters. This game will answer a lot of questions.

My feeling is both are pretty good, but Montana appears better. Montana's schedule is such that they only need to be .500 in Big Sky play to be a likely playoff participant. It'll be interesting to see what happens if they do, indeed, finish 7-4 (I strongly suspect they'll finish better than that). They'd have 4 FCS losses; you can't really stack that kind of 7-4 record against a team that may have 1 or 2 FBS losses.

I selected Cal Poly at UND. UND has an easy path towards a share of the conference title, if they can get past Cal Poly, who appear to be the better team at this point.

I'm not convinced on UND. From watching MSU play, I think they are a bottom of the conference team. Not saying good teams don't struggle with bad teams, but UND really hasn't put anyone away handily. At least SUU beat a PSU team that was supposed to be at the top of the BSC by two touchdowns. USD is typically near the bottom of the MVFC, and almost lost to Weber the week before UND beat them in OT. I don't buy into the "But they're from the MVFC, so therefore are automatically better than everyone else" philosophy. USD is not a good win. My personal feeling is that CP will pound UND, and UM will win a close game against SUU. But because I could see Griz with a greater chance of losing, I think that one is the game of the week.

When you're talking about the playoffs and Montana $$$.

So did I. For unknown reason I think ND is under rated. They know this is a crucial game to making the playoffs and I think the "sue's" will protect their home turf.

It will be interesting if that happens indeed and yep, Claw, that's the first thing that came to my mind as well.

I think they would need at least one more quality win and for UNI to finish strong. Look at last year's UND with wins against Wyoming and PSU and a tougher SOS than this year's UM would have. But it's hard to believe that $;s don't play a roll unfortunately.

I voted for CP@UND in the poll. It remains to be seen how high of quality the SDSU and Montana wins are but judging by the way they played Nevada, they're not a fluke. A road win here would be huge for them.

I chose #24 SUU at #11UM. Two ranked BSC teams going toe to toe in Missoula on the Griz's Homecoming, a game that they have lost only once in the past 25 years. SUU did not have to play EWU or Montana last year to become the Big Sky champions. This will be a statement game, regardless of who comes out on top.

This article/source is a great peak into the preparations that went into this game. It also makes a third party, Eastern Washington, sound like one of the coolest places to be on this side of the Mississippi-

SUU at Montana has to be considered the game of the week. Should be a great one.

I don't think the Cal Poly-UND game will be very close. CP should roll.

Yup, Cal Poly will roll. It will start slow, maybe a couple of three and outs, but by the third quarter Cal Poly will have a three touchdown lead.

CP big. Their X factor is the ability to throw the ball effectively. Didn't see your prediction on the BigSky thread Marceagfan.

UC Davis @ Eastern-Eagles flyin' high

Southern Utah @ Montana - SUU, may be wishful thinking

Cal Poly @ North Dakota- Sue's, don't underestimate the native americans in hockeyland

NAU @ No Col.- NAU they have got to get back on track

Id St @ Portland St - Vikings at home

Mt St @ Sac St - Bobcats Poor hornets. may be the beginning of the end for Sears and Wolff

Agreed. UND's defense is pretty good at stopping the run, but I don't see their offense being able to generate enough points to keep up. I've got Cal Poly by 10-14 points.
