The Big Sky Conference will announce its preseason All-Big Sky football team and the results of the media and coaches' polls next Monday and Tuesday at the Big Sky Kickoff media conference in Park City, Utah. We will have full coverage from that event that will lead us into coverage from around the league leading up to the 2017 season.

In anticipation of those accolades, we will have our picks for the preseason offense, defense and the way we voted in the preseason poll with a breakdown of the league's composite schedule.

SKYLINE SPORTS preseason All-Big Sky team – Offense

Check back tomorrow for the way we voted on defense.

Weber with 4 on the preseason all-conference team. Andrew Vollert (Consensus), Landon Stice, Taron Johnson, and Jacob DeMaio. UND led with 6 players selected.

Nice to see some Wildcats receiving some love. Personally, I think Weber's defense will be the best in the Sky. I'm really wondering how we are going to score points, but defensively we will really limit teams ability to move the ball. I'm looking over the possible starters and I really don't see any weaknesses. Of course, injuries could change all of that, but even the backups are experienced and talented.

But even a very good defense needs to be off the field or they wear down eventually. We need some sustained drives this year. O-Line will be the key.

We have good numbers of O linemen, and we have some good returning talent. It's really a matter of keeping everyone healthy and hoping that some of the new recruits and red shirts come in ready to go. Same thing goes for the D line. Our overall team speed has gotten better every year that Hill has been our head coach. However, we all know that it is the big, ugly guys who set it all up. A great O line can make almost any backs look good.

I agree about the O assisting the D with sustained drives. Better yet, scoring drives, no matter how long they are.

Picked 5th in both the coaches and media poll. Really, can't argue with that. My concern is with our OL. The OL has talent, but is lacking in experience. Coaches moved DL Junior Latu to the OL recently. I also wouldn't doubt if our coaches are actively looking for any talented drop downs.

Just based off the polls, I think a 7 or 8 win season is definitely possible. No games vs UND (picked 1st), NAU (picked 3rd), or UNC (picked 9th & 10th).

MT Western (Win)
@ Cal (Loss)
@ Sac St (Non-Conf), picked 12th (Win)
UC Davis, 11th (Win)
@ Montana St, 8th (Win/Loss)
So Utah, 7th (Win/Loss)
@ Cal Poly, 4th (Loss/Win)
Montana, 6th (Win/Loss)
@ E Wash, 2nd (Loss)
@ Portland St, 10th & 9th (Win/Loss)
Idaho St, 13th (Win)

 8 wins look possible...7 wins looking very possible... :thumb: with this fan!

Quoting senior DE Taron Johnson, representing Wildcats in Park City: "It's big. I just feel like the culture has been changing in the past couple of years with the Hill era...I think this is the best team we're going to have on my last year." (SE Brandon Garside article) :thumb:

If you are wondering what is going on at the beginning of this video, my brother Brooks Nuanez, who is co-founder of Skyline Sports, our director of operations and our senior photographer, played safety at Montana from 2009-2011. He played a year for Phenicie and Phen remembered Brooks. The beginning is them rehashing their Big Sky championship days at Montana.
