Big Sky Podcast for Sac State

Listening to coach Sears on the podcast, I found his thoughts on "getting over the hump" to be a top tier football program to be interesting. There was all the usual talk of the players buying in, trusting each other and being a family. There was nothing said about the coaches coaching better/smarter or about having better game planning and schemes, coordination between the position coaches, or working to improve the skills of the players.

There's a great quote in a PAC 12 coaches office that says "players don't have bad practices, coaches do". So true. If the coaches aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing how can they expect their players to do what they're supposed to do?

Looking forward to the season!

Well he may not have said it in the podcast but I know he is selling them on being a family, I hear he has had players over for dinner at his house and did a team building exercise on trust at the ropes course in campus. Part if getting them to buy in is getting them together and talking to them about it. Looks like Sears is doing that. Also hearing about the Football Alumni tailgate coming up in August. Awesome he is getting the football Alumni involved
