BIG SKY POWER RANKINGS: First week of league play

A win over the FBS is always impressive, but I think it's a little too early to have Idaho State at # 2 at this moment. Lets not forget that this is the same Idaho State team that struggled with Western Oregon and got toppled by a very bad Utah State squad. To me that says more about Nevada than anything else. ISU will get a chance to prove themselves however and I will be keeping an eye on that ISU/UNC game in Greeley.

Can't see anything wrong these rankings. Idaho State did have a big win last weekend over Nevada, but I tend to think that Nevada is not just bad, but they are horrid. To bad Matt Wells and his USU Aggies don't get a shot at the Wolf Pack this season. He definitely needs wins and that would be a definite W. As a Wildcat fan we should hope that Wells wins just enough games this season so that we don't lose Jay to USU.

Anyway, I get it though. It is an FBS win. These types of rankings should give our team fuel to fire them up. :stir:

UNC up 40-30 on ISU going into the 4th.

...and now UNC down 40-42 with 5 minutes to go. I'm rooting for ISU but have my doubts about them topping the Power Rankings.

...and UNC wins 43-42 with the field goal as time expires. I'm guessing ISU is no longer #1.

These ranking were a joke!

The #1 ranked SUU Tbirds get dump trucked by the #12 ranked Sac State Hornets
The #2 raked Idaho State Bengals get edged out by the number #9 ranked Cubbies
The #3 ranked Aggies didn't look like they belonged on the same field as the #4 ranked WSU Wildcats

The only game where the higher ranked team beat the lower ranked team was #10 NAU over #13 Cal Poly. Maybe those close Pac-12 losses helped Weber and UNC more than you gave them credit for.

Here is this weeks guess at it.

Those rankings are much better than Colters. I haven't seen his come out yet for the week.

Mine will be out tonight or tomorrow. Hint: Weber State is No. 1.

Can't blame you for your past rankings. The Sky has been wacky so far this season.

The point that i struggled with is that ISU was given credit for beating a very bad Nevada team. Weber and UNC were admittedly not given credit for playing Pac-12 teams tough and losing. There was no question in my mind after watching Weber play Cal as well as they did that the Wildcats were top 2. I think it is clear that level of competition is up top to bottom in this league.

Top to bottom probably the best Power Rankings I have seen. I don't think there was one thing I disagreed with.

Well done :thumb:

BIG SKY POWER RANKINGS: 2nd week of October 2017

I always thought EWU should be 1st, but you drop Weber 2 spots for not playing? Come on! And you have Sac St too low at 9th. Other than that, not bad.

This is how I have it:

1. EWU
2. WSU
3. NAU
4. MSU
5. UM
6. Sac St
7. SUU
8. UCD
9. ISU
10. UND
11. UNC
12. PSU
13. Cal Poly

:agree:

I'm looking forward to ISU @ Sac.
CNuanez has ISU as favorite, I wont be surprised one bit if Sac pulls that one out.
