BIG SKY POWER RANKINGS: First week of league play

It's a little sobering to see EWU listed as 6th in the Big Sky power rankings. But at this point, it's difficult to argue against. We need to start winning some meaningful games.

Going with Portland State, eh? I hope you're right!

I don't know if this is well known, but that game is being played out in Hillsboro (capacity about 7,500) due to a scheduling issue at Providence Park. It's the same place we played back in 2010.

Yes, I read that and that really takes away the home field advantage for the Vikings. Home field and coming off a bye week favors the Vikings and I think the players really like playing for their coach.

Home field advantage? The last time we played at PGE Park, we had at least as many folks there as PSU. Same was true a couple years prior to that.

The Griz travel as equally well to Portland as EWU does.

Weber ranked first is a joke....the last time we lost a conference game was 2015, we are something like 36-5 in conference since 2012 and 31-2 if you remove the 2015 season, until the champ is dethroned, they are the champ...I guess Weber beating the juggernauts of Montana western, Sac, and Davis earned them the nod...smh

We're about to find out how good Sac is and I think they're pretty darned good. Plus, Weber played VERY well against Cal. Last year weighs somewhat in the first half of the following season but to go back to 2012 or even 2015 is a stretch.

I have no problem with Weber being ranked ahead of us right now. If the Cats beat them, I'll have no problem with Montana State being ahead of us either.

A few years ago, I believe Burton's last year at PSU, NAU had more fans at the stadium than PSU.

There are rumors that the Portland players actually wanted the game moved to Missoula.
