Big Sky Predictions

To win the Sky, a team will have to post 12 to 13 wins. In your opinions, what will be the predicted finish of the teams? Weber and Montana are by far the best teams in the Sky, but MSU, PSU, UNC, and NAU have all been playing well. This upcoming conference season is going to be really tough.
I think it will end with a few ties, and Weber on top:

1. Weber State
1. Montana
3. Portland State
3. Northern Colorado
5. Montana State
6. Northern Arizona
7. Eastern Washington
8. Idaho State
9. Sacramento State

If by any unusal chance that Weber doesn't host, how far are each of you willing to travel to watch the Big Sky Tourney?

NAU has no home court advantage which should help all of us. PSU is displaced. UNC lack of experience may not help them. UM, if they play decent along with WSU will have good home attendance (likely 4-6,000 average) which will help us both win.

I would consider going to UM, MSU, UNC, or ISU (ya right). Probably not if its anywhere else.

1-Weber
2-Portland State (This team is better then last year)
3-Montana (Not as good as advertised)
4-Northern Colorado (Is a team that is on the up and up)
5-Norhtern Arizona
6-Montana State
7-Sacramento State
8-Idaho State
9- Eastern Washington (They are wishing that they had Ronny)

Overall I think that the top three are all real close, and that it will be a good season for those three teams. I know that I have portland high, but that is my sleeper team that could do a lot of damage if teams sleep on them in the first half of the season.

Weber wins the BSCC by three games

Right Now... Montana State is definitely the sleeper. They have a good win against Wyoming and some close loses, with the latest one coming against Arizona State.

I guess i was wrong, the team to beat is definitely NAU. On Friday we're gonna rock their world. Bring it Landry! I can't wait to play the beets from Poca! We's goin' to sweep them mullets!!! I can't believe they actually think they are legit all right now.

We need to fill the bus thats going up to ISU next week on Feb 2nd. it is going to be great to beat them up there. We need to make a strong presence up there and be ephin loud.
If I can get some help in filling this bus it would be greatly appreciated. Bus ride, game ticket, sixth man shirt, and treats will be provided.

sounds pretty good for 25 bucks. I Can't wait to school those spuds. see ya'll on the bus.

It's going to be a blast. Last season's game was one of the best games I saw. Patten was unbelievable! He had one of the most amazing dunks that I have ever seen in a college game. However, we all need to be at the next three home games before this road trip. We have to do all that we can to ensure that we sweep, that means winning the first game on the 31st. Not to mention this weeks games against Sac and NAU.

Bengals school the weber tools......lol

I think:

1. Portland State
2. Idaho State
2. Montana State
4. Northern Arizona
5. Weber State
6. Montana
7. Eastern Washington
8. Northern Colorado
9. Sacramento State

So, you think that a 4 point win is SCHOOLING somebody? If it was a 10+ point win I might agree with you, but as it is, LOL.

I figure Weber will end the season with 12 or 11 wins. Our team is a lot better than how they have been playing. There are two players having some really definite confidence issues right now. But both will break out of the slumps, and nobody has the depth that Weber has. Nance is playing great right now. Danny can come in and provide us with a spark, and I'm sure that Billings and JP will break out of their slumps and turn it up.
Other than that I'm sure MSU, PSU, UM and NAU will all be competing to the end. Right now, I'm not sure who will win it, but I'm sure that Weber, ISU, MSU, PSU, UM and NAU will all be in the tourney.

JP and Billings have been in a slump all year. Tyler had a pretty good game against the Aggies but I think we can all agree they are both having a bad year. It is amazing that Coach Rahe and the team have done as well as they have. The rest of the Big Sky better watch out because I think both of them are going to come out of it soon. Then WSU will be tough...

I'm not to worried for some strange reason. I really think that JP is going to have a great game soon. I'm frustrated by our 3 shooting, but like all things that comes and goes. What I'm most impressed with lately is our inside game. I'm concerned with the guards driving to the basket. That is something they should have done more on Saturday against ISU. I just wish Weber could be consistent! Seven games to go.

It is definitely going to be close again this year. The top Six teams in the conference could all possibly win it and host. I'm definitely under the impression that Weber could win out, but lets all follow Rahe's advice and take it one game at a time. BTW, what happened to Bengal2K after his teams defeat on Thursday Night. Did he notice that Weber beat UNC by 14 on Saturday??

Probably crept back to his potatoe storage barn to wait out the next bengal flash of glory, should hear back from him in 4-5 years.

So the way that I see it Weber has to win four of there last five to host the tournament. Of those four wins they have to beat PSU, to own them in a tie braker, and NAU, to force a tiebraker. I have one question though, what is the next tie breaker if the two teams that finish first split during the regular season? Is it total points?

The next step in the tie-breaker is how each team did against the 3rd place team, 4th, place team and so on. If it is still a tie, then I believe that it comes down to a coin toss.

I think are enough tie breaking scenarios to decide who hosts though.

The best way to ensure that Weber will host is by winning all their remaining games. No matter what happens, Weber needs to defend their home court. As for other teams being in the tourny...EWU and UNC are not out of contention. A loss at home to Weber on Thursday will virtually drop Eastern out of contention, and I'm sure that they know that. Eastern is going to be bringing it on Thursday. There are no push-overs in this league.
