After 3 weeks of non-conference play, I thought it would be a good time to predict who is a contender and who is a pretender.

Cal Davis
@San Jose St W 44-38
v San Diego W 54-21
@Stanford L 10-30

v Idaho W
@Northern Colorado W
v Idaho St W
@Cal Poly W
@Montana L
v Northern Arizona W
@Eastern Washington L
v Sacramento St W
Prediction 8-3 and Playoff bound. They could be 10-1 I have them with road losses to Montana and EWU. But either or both of those could be wins.

Cal Poly
@North Dakota St L 3-49
v Weber L 17-24
v Brown W 44-15

@Eastern Washington L
v Montana L
@Sacramento St L
vCal Davis L
@Northern Arizona L
@Montana St L
v Idaho St W
v Southern Utah W
Prediction 3-8. Wins will be hard to come by for Cal Poly. I think they may end up 4-7 or 5-6 if the triple option surprises someone.

Eastern Washington
v Central Washington W 58-13
@Northern Arizona W 31-26
@Washington St L 24-59

v Cal Poly W
@Montana St W
v Southern Utah W
@Weber ?
v Idaho W
@Northern Colorado W
v Cal Davis W
@Portland St W
Hoping they split with Weber and Cal Davis. They could win or lose either of those. Predicted record 9-2 maybe 8-3 Playoff bound

Idaho
@Fresno St L 13-79
v Western New Mexico W 56-10

@Cal Davis L
v Portland St W
@Idaho St W
@Montana St L
v Southern Utah W
@Eastern Washington L
v North Dakota L
v Montana L
@Florida L
I could see them winning one of the Montana St, North Dakota, or Montana games. They also might lose to SUU or Idaho St. Predicted Record 4-7 or 5-6

Idaho St
v Western State W 45-10
@Cal L 23-45

@North Dakota L
v Northern Arizona L
v Idaho L
@Cal Davis L
@Liberty L
v Montana St L
@ Portland St W
@Cal Poly L
v Weber L
Predicted finish 2-9 They might surprise someone along they way, but they could also lose to everyone.

Montana
v Northern Iowa W 26-23
v Drake W 48-16
@Western Illinois L 27-31

v Sacramento St W
@Cal Poly W
v Portland St W
@North Dakota L
v Cal Davis W
@Southern Utah L
@Idaho W
v Montana St W
Probably a playoff team at 8-3. Could be as high as 9-2 or miss the playoffs at 7-4.

Montana St
v Western Illinois W 26-23
@South Dakota St L 14-45
v Wagner W 47-24

@Portland St W
v Eastern Washington L
v Idaho W
@Weber L
@Idaho St W
v Cal Poly W
v Northern Colorado W
@Montana L
Prediction 7-4 and out of the playoffs. Could also see a collapse mid season and they drop to the bottom half of the league.

Northern Arizona
@UTEP W 30-10
v Eastern Washington L 26-32
@Missouri St L 8-40

v Southern Utah L
@Idaho St W
v Weber L
@Northern Colorado W
v Cal Poly W
@Cal Davis L
@Sacramento St L
v North Dakota W
Prediction is 5-6. Maybe 7 wins if they get it back on track.

Northern Colorado
v McNeese St L 14-17
@South Dakota L 28-43
v Sacramento St L 25-28

@Weber L
v North Dakota L
v UC Davis L
@Portland St W
v Northern Arizona L
@ Southern Utah L
v Eastern Washington L
@Montana St L
Ugly year at 1-10. More likely 3-8 as they might sneak a win or two in somewhere along the way as they have played teams close.

Portland St
@Nevada L 19-72
@Oregon L 14-62
v College of Idaho W 63-14

v Montana St L
@Idaho L
@ Montana L
v Northern Colorado L
@Sacramento St L
v Idaho St L
@North Dakota L
v Eastern Washington L
Prediction 1 and 10 Hard to see any D1 wins for Portland St. Maybe someone embarrasses themselves and loses to the Big Sky punching bag.

Sacramento St
v St Francis W 55-7
@San Diego St L 14-28
@Northern Colorado W 28-25

@Montana L
v Cal Poly W
@Southern Utah L
v North Dakota W

Prediction 6-5. Could easily be 7-4. They will probably play a lot of teams tough.

Southern Utah
v North Alabama L 30-34
@Oregon St L 25-48
@ Arizona L 31-62

@Northern Arizona W
@ Eastern Washington L
V Sacramento St W
@Idaho L
v Northern Colorado W
v Montana W
v Weber L
@Cal Poly L
Prediction 4-7 They might surprise and win 5 or 6, but no playoffs for the T-birds.

Weber
@Utah L 10-41
@Cal Poly W 24-17
v South Dakota W 27-10

v Northern Colorado W
@Northern Arizona W
v Eastern Washington ?
v Montana St W
@North Dakota W
v Sacramento St W
@Southern Utah W
@Idaho St W
Prediction 9-2 and in the playoffs. Might drop another game on the road and end up 8-3. Eastern Washington game shapes up to be a battle for the conference championship and possible playoff seeding.

Predicted playoff teams
EWU
Weber
Cal Davis
Montana

The only problem I see with ISU at this point, is they only have 4 FCS wins or better. They have a win vs. a D2 snd two FBS losses. They would have to win out to get to 7 wins. If we beat them in Holt, that will effectively end their season. For us however, win 1/3 we get to 7 wins, win 2/3 we get in and possible seed, win 3/3 and possibly share the hardware and seed 1-4.

ISU really needed that win at Liberty. Due to one of their wins being over a non-D1, they probably need to win out to get a bid. We're all hoping that doesn't happen.

This is the best team ISU has had in a long time. I agree, they have to win out to make the playoffs. If we weren't their last game, I would like to see that happen. However, I still want to see us beat them in Pokey.

I wouldn't say UM and MSU are not playoff bound just yet. Either team can get to 7 wins by winning out. Of course only one of them can win out due to the brawl game. MSU should win the two (Poly and UNC at home) prior to the brawl and if they beat UM in Missoula (which they are capable of doing) they wouldn't have any bad losses. Their losses would be at S Dakota St, EWU, at Weber, and at ISU. I could see a 7-4 MSU team getting in. If not, it's likely only a three bid conference cause Weber don't lose to the Bungles.

I agree. However, I would not be surprised to see Cal Poly beat MSU and MSU beat Montana. I don't think either school will win out.

Pocatello has had one of their best seasons in a while. I don't see them winning out.
