• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Big Sky Rankings

The link is attached. The author puts Weber at #3 in conference, behind Montana and UNC. He writes off the loss to SUU as Weber shooting awful and SUU having their best game of the season. I think Weber's been a little more up-and-down than they should, but when they settle down I'd put them above UNC, probably tied with Montana in most likely to win league. Thoughts?

The loss to SUU represents an inconsistency of play that I think bothers many Wildcat fans (it does me). This team has looked really good at times and seems to have athleticism. But in games like USU, UVU and then SUU (in-state games that make it even worse), we've been incredibly unpredictable. With SUU we shot around 35%, and you have to expect to lose when you shoot that poorly. But, even then, we've rarely played a full, hard, efficient 40 minutes with long scoreless spells in almost every game.

I have seen the makings of a pretty good team. But I've also seen really young players that get lost on their defensive assignments, or who can't seem to find their rhythm when scoring.

The Sky doesn't look very good this year, so maybe we are in that Top 3. But even to make that claim, I think we have to get a lot more consistent as a team. And we need better leadership from both Harding and Chapman who we rely on to set that consistency mark -- which both are struggling with.

From what I've seen (Idaho alum, but Big Sky fan), Weber has the talent to be the best or second best team in the league. Against all but Montana and UNC, Weber has to play poorly for the other team to have a chance---just look at the matchup against my Vandals, Idaho shot 60% in the second half and still lost. Against those top two, Weber has the most well-rounded top four players in terms of complimentary pieces, but they have to be clicking on offense because they don't have the defense Montana has (per defensive ratings). I'm hoping Weber and Montana take care of their next four games (including vs UNC), because it'd be fun to see two one-loss teams when Weber plays Montana in Missoula on 1/26.

Side note---there's no way Harding continues to shoot as poorly as he has in the past two games. If he shoots just okay by his standards the SUU game doesn't reach OT.
