• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Big Sky Scheduling Woes

Brandon Garside of Ogden's Standard-Examiner has written from Weber State's perspective how hard it's becoming to schedule in the Big Sky...

“We’ll go through the whole WCC, we’ll call everybody,” Rahe said. “Then we’ll go through the Big West, then we’ll go through the WAC, and then we go through the Mountain West. The Mountain West schools very rarely will ever go play at a Big Sky school on the road. They don’t do that anymore because they don’t have to.”

Why? Those bigger schools have the money to bring in smaller schools to their home courts without returning the favor.

“The Mountain West and even the WCC now can buy up to four to five opponents to come in and play them at home so they don’t have to go on the road,” Rahe said. “The Mountain West will buy six or seven. There’s no reason for them to go play a Big Sky school on the road. They just won’t do it. They don’t have to.”
