Does anyone have a link to the Big Sky's tie brake scenarios? There is a lot of balance and parity in the Sky. That isn't necessarily good though.

this is a VERY EXCITING season for teams in 3rd through 11th. when was the last time anyone can recall that any team could get 3rd through 11th? teams that have been bad for a while have a big opportunity, coaches can have a big yr and look good (such as msu). sac could finish 3rd. they have never done better than 5th (and that was when we had 8 teams).

so third and 7th will be a big deal; it just sucks to be a team that doesnt get in this year.

Are you sure that Sac hasn't finished at 4th before? They did host Weber once in a playoff game. Remember, we all listened to it in the parking lot of the Dee events center. Heaven's they may have finished 3rd. The year Jamal shot a half court with 4 seconds remaining in the Conference Championship.

In the past, tiebreaker was head-to-head (in the case of a three or four-way tie, you take the team with the best composite record against the other teams they are tied with).

Next tiebreaker has been how you did against the No. 1 team in the league, if that doesn't break the tie, you go to No. 2, and on down, eliminating teams from multiple ties as you go.

If none of that works, RPI has been the final tiebreaker. But I don't remember it ever getting to RPI.

As of today, Tuesday January 22nd

1. Weber State (8-0, 13-3)
2. Montana (8-0, 12-4)
3. North Dakota (4-4, 7-10)
4. Montana State (4-4, 7-9)
5. Sacramento State (3-5, 8-8)
6. Northern Arizona (3-5, 6-12)
7. Portland State (3-5, 5-10)

8. Northern Colorado (3-5, 5-11)
9. Southern Utah (3-5, 5-12)
10. Idaho State (3-5, 4-13)
11. Eastern Washington (2-6, 4-14)

So, my understanding of the tie breaker is that IF the following scenario occurs, Weber will win the tiebreaker:

End of Season both WSU and UM have one conference loss each (to each other), the tie breaker will then be the RPI.
If that is true, WSU will win the tie breaker because they will be projected to have a higher RPI than UM:

I don't think the bracketbuster game will be enough for UM to overcome the RPI lead that Weber will have.

Just win out and you don't have to worry. :)

I think RPI is actually last in the tie-breaking scenario. I think it's like conf record, then record vs common opponents, then overall record and the RPI, dont quote me on that though, I have been known to be wrong on more than one occasion

edit, Bengal Visitor already explained the process

The best way to avoid a tie breaker is to take care of business on the road this week. We can't over look MSU, they will be ready for us. I think that we match up with the Griz a little better than last year. If we win, it is going to come down to perimeter D and making free throws.

The real question here is, when was the last time EWU was in last place???

95-96 They finished 0-14 for last place. Boise & Idaho were still in the conference then.
94-95 They finished 2-12 for last place
93-94 They finished 0-14 for last place
96-97 They Finished 3-13 and were in second to last place
2004-2005 They finished 5-9 for third to last. This was the year after Stuckey left.

Great point!! Can't overlook the Bobcats in anticipation of Saturday's game. Gotta take it one game at a time. The Bobcats will be waiting and hungry. They want to beat Weber.

Weber must cut down on turnovers and play smart basketball.
