I was just on the website where you can buy tickets to the tournament. I counted, and there are as of 1:30 PM 5783 left. Who knows what total seat numbers are at the Dee? Can someone do the math? I thought it would be fun to track before next Thursday. I will update it a couple times a day. Get on Facebook and send the invite out to all your friends. If we make it to the championship game I really think we can come close to selling it out. Here is the Facebook link. https://www.facebook.com/events/527819143997918/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've got my tickets!!!!!! And, by extension, I know that Fly, Pc, and Bengalhater have theirs (as long as they each pay me $15 looool).

That's very encouraging, especially considering there is still more than a week until the tourney. Hopefully they fill it up.

I'm really hoping our students show up in force. Gonna be tough, next week is Spring Break on campus. Bengalhater, that doesn't mean you get the week off a work even though you define Spring Break and the "Holidays."

But how many tickets does the Big regulate to the other Big Sky fans? there has to be "spots" for the other 6 teams fans to buy?

So how many of the 12,000 seats are available for the other fanbases?

When I purchased my tickets yesterday, I tried to get some in section H close to the court, they said that whole section was on hold, so that was my thought that it was being held for visiting teams?

Section A is supposedly reserved for away fans too. If I remember right, only teams in the Championship games are granted tickets.

If that is truly how many tickets have been sold, then this will be the best attended BSC basketball championship ever. I am assuming that each participating school is required to buy a fixed allotment of tickets. That would probably account for the two sections where tickets were not available. Also, the BSC purchases a couple of rows of tickets for their crew. There will also be some seats reserved for visiting media. :twocents:

They will open the tickets up once the schools have turned them back in. I would guess that 500 opposing fans will be making the trip to Ogden.

I think 500 is very optimistic. There will be some Griz fans, and maybe a few MSU fans (if the Bobcats make it). But other than ISU, who probably aren't going to make it, I doubt any other school would have more than a couple dozen fans?

I was in Missoula last year for the BSC tourney, they had different sections for the home and away teams for the two semi-final games, so attendees could remain in their seating for both games. The Weber contingent, which included a couple bus fulls, was directly across court from the Weber bench. The MT student section was in the end behind the basket where Weber shot in 2nd half. Weber band was in the other end opposite from MT students and band. It kind of worked - There were groups from UNC and North Dakota for the semis (I guess under 100 for each/both). Weber had a couple hundred people - my guess?

One of the perks of winning the Conference is getting to host- it allows your home fans to come out in number.

Every time there is a discussion of Big Sky going to a neutral site - I cringe at how many fans could make the trip? And what is a neutral site that would be accessible? (If you enter all the cities into a mid-point calculator, the event would be held in POCATATO!) :wall: :wall: :lol:

Let's hope Ogden and Weber fans come out in droves and fill the Dee - it was rockin' for the NAU game, I thought louder than even the CIT finals last year. Go Cats

Are students getting in for free? I went to the ticket office site and it showed the student section as sold out? I doubt that many have got on and bought tickets so did the school buy them out?

There shouldn't be any 'turning in' of tickets from participating schools. The BSC should require them to buy 500 seats each. If they can't sell them to their fans, that is their problem. That is only a total of 3000 seats for visiting programs. I think that everybody's facilities could handle that. If they couldn't, the BSC should not allow them to host. If a school can't afford to guarantee the ticket sales, they, likewise, should not be allowed to participate. That is the kind of investment the BSC should expect from all of its members.

I think that students just need to go to the ticket office, show their ID, and pick up their tickets. If you have a group you want to sit with, you should probably go together or find out if you can just take your friend's IDs with you. I think that you can get guest tickets as well. :nod:

FYI: Online it showed the 'student' sections reserved are B, C, & F -- (which is behind the basket on Wildcat's team bench side, normally). A bit different than in the past (?) Perhaps with a complimentary ticket for students this go round, total attendance just might be an all-time high, like many of you think. :twocents:

We got our tickets this morning, not as low as I wanted (row 15), lower bowl is getting pretty filled up.
