Big Wins only Positive

Pretty much the only good thing to take from this season is the big wins: Oregon State, Montana, and hopefully Davis. Really disappointed this year, but really want to close out strong against the Ags

The radio announcers were saying yesterday that Sac State starts out next year with two FBS opponents (on the road, of course), Colorado and New Mexico State. Then home to UNC and UND. Other home games were Montana State and Cal Poly. Road games in BSC are EWU, ISU, SUU, and Davis. We do not play Montana, NAU or PSU. Assume a 5th home game to be determined, unless it is away. Assume more road than home games and more FBS opponents will be the norm for Sac State until the program becomes a contender and fills the stadium like MSU and UM which is awarded favorable home schedules and packs their stadiums.

That's bad logic, Joseph. A predominance of bodybag games is NOT going to turn this or ANY team into a contender. ONE is plenty. More than that is asking for Weber-style irrelevance (i.e. scheduling yourself out of the playoffs).

Agree with you Superhornet

Believe you thought I was supportive of two body bag games to start the season. Not at all. Just sharing what I heard yesterrday. Indeed agree that if we play a higher division Pac 12 school and a WAC school to start next season it is going to make a run at the playoffs very difficultl. One body bag game is more than enough each year.

Yeah. That's what happened.

On the other hand, if we somehow got a lower-tier WAC and maybe get a MAC/Sun Belt/C-USA school to come to us (much easier for hoops since they could package that with a road trip to a Big West/WCC/Pac-12 school), I might be more likely to accept a 2-FBS scenario. But even then, I think I'd rather have one low-FBS (to get the FBS brownie points) and a peer FCS OOC instead. We had Hofstra a few times. Why not see if we can get a home-and-home with another Eastern school?

At least both FBS schools are bottom dwellers in their respective conferences and are beatable. My concern with next year's schedule is why do we only have 4 home games and have to travel to Southern Utah again?

2 FBS program on the schedule for next year?!? Wow we’ve scheduled ourselves out of the playoffs already. I feared the day would come when this program would have to whore itself out in two money games to make ends meet. My guess is the last home date is filled with a D-2 program. What a joke.

I don’t like the NM State game at all. If you are going to play a FBS program, at least play one that pays good money. That game might fetch 300k which is about half of what they could get playing a Pac-12 program. It’s more than likely going to be a loss anyways so may as well get as much as you can.

The back to back trips to SUU are a complete failure by whoever puts together the schedule. ( I assume it’s Wanless.) It should have been a home game this season as next season’s game was determined by the BSC scheduling rotation. This is just a complete fail by Wanless and the admin.

What Pac20 team will play us now after beating OSU? The CU game was scheduled before the anomoly of OSU, wouldn't be surprised if Colorado buys Sac out.

The two FBS games will be excuse #1 next year....besides injuries.

Get out of the money games, for one year. For god's sake, can't we get a USD or a winnable DI at home!?!?!?!

We’ve always had a money game a season for a decade now. I’m ok with one as we don’t have a big enough gate to do away with them. But 2 money games will hurt. This is not good at all. I understood that BSC teams not scheduled to count towards the BSC scheduled can be scheduled as OOC games. I would have thought this was going to be the way to go since there is a lack of FCS teams out west.

I'm okay with one too, I should have clarified.

But seriously, get PSU in here next year as an OOC game...

I say schedule Alabama and LSU then and take the two million dollars and run with it. We might as well get paid really well if we are only going to be a five hundred team anyway.

At that rate, our OOC should look like:

@ AZ
OR ST
@ Fresno St
@ Nebraska
@ OR

This led one team to a guaranteed 3-8 season, but they DID beat OR St....

(No, I'm NOT advocating this....)
