EWU 21, NoColorado 21 end of the 3rd.

this would be a big upset for you guys, move you back up in the standings.

who do you root for in the Montana State - NAU game? the Bobcats so you guys can move up higher, especially with a couple road wins?

Nevermind......2 late EWU TD's to overcome N. Colorado, 35-28.

i didn't watch much, but, EWU was not that impressive. NCU ran on them and moved the ball pretty well. EWU struggled when i watched them. they might be ripe for an upset next week.

I agree, i think EWU is primed, but NAU is looking scary good against MSU.

its funny, one of your posters predicted a win over EWU and a loss at NAU, which i questioned after EWU beat NAU. after this week? that trip to Flagstaff looks pretty daunting! hope you guys get at least a split.

and now Portland 14 Montana 7 in the 3rd. what the heck is going on today in the BigSky? well, at least Idaho State lost to restore some sanity.

It's kind of like they say in boxing, "styles make fights". NAU lost at EWU last week, the Eagles were able to pressure Herrick, sacked him twice and were able to slow him down enough to win. Today MSU couldn't get near him and he picked them apart. In the second half last year we were able bring pressure and I believe sacked Herrick 4 times, by the end of the game he didn't look like he wanted to touch the ball, our defense is even faster this year. EWU had some problems with the mobility of the UNC qb today and apparently the Bears even had some success on the ground. Fleming's mobility might give them some problems and if they gave up yardage to NAU Hilliard should have a good day against them. Both NAU and EWU are good and dangerous teams but I feel that we have a good shot against both of them. The Big Sky is a real war this year, it's no longer a Griz cakewalk. I think that the champion will have at least two losses. The Griz are locked with Portland in a mistake fest , it's in the third and they trail 14-7, both teams playing poorly, go Viks!

portland-montana is a weird one. its 20-14 Montana, 8 to go in the 4th. Portland has run for 260 yards so far (QB has over 100), but passed for less than 70 on 13 completions. they have 4 turnovers, to Montana's 2. And, Portland scores to take a 21-20 lead.

probably a good week for you guys to have a bye! gremlins floating around the BigSky Stadiums today. If the Griz lose, the standings are gonna be pretty stacked up. Portland, NAU, EWU and MSU tied with one loss? crazy. looking forward to being a part of it down the road.

Laser - you hit it on the head. matchups are so important in college football these days. you guys have been able to balance pass/run probably better than anyone else in the conference.

it kind of nice that you are heading into a stretch of games at midseason that have a HUGE impact. 2 wins, and a conference title and playoff berth are a possibility. when was the last time that was the case?

2 losses, and things aren't so rosy. then you're playing for a winning season.

That’s the thing about the BSC DM, it is a slate of tough games EVERY week. The last time we had a tough stretch of games like this was…let me think for a second…last year. You guys will see this when you make the jump in 2012. No more of the UXD’s and transitional teams to pad the schedule will make the season a grind every week.

Here was the BSC scoreboard for the week:

NAU over MSU 34-7 It was a rout. NAU jumped all over MSU and didn’t look back.

UM over PSU 23-21 UM escapes yet again.

WSU over ISU 16-13 WSU is looking terrible this season. I knew they would drop off from last season but I didn’t expect it to be this bad.

EWU over UNC 35-28 EWU is just an average team without T Jones. They lose this game if he doesn’t play, he is that good even when not at full health.

The BSC and most every conference is a complete jumble right now. It’s going to be crazy to see how all this pans out. If the Hornets win out, there is the possibility of grabbing a share of the BSC title, but there are some tough match-ups that lay ahead.
