I like the way this guy thinks. :thumb:

Seriously though, a great in-depth article by Jon. I really do think we have what it takes to beat the Griz. My only huge concern is having to play an extra game, but it is nice that we are playing the first game both Thursday and (hopefully Friday). Just need to be up by a lot in the 2nd half against NAU and our semi-final opponent and we can rest our starters. With Cherry only being around 90% and Ward being out, we should be able to take the Griz on Saturday if both teams make it there. You know they will be getting a very large dose of Trez, Mook, and Joel if we see them. Let's finish out this season strong and go dancin'!

Sorry I don't know where to put this but I was just wondering what you guys think of Troy Huff's NBA potential? I figured you guys would be the best to ask.

His skills project him as a 3, but his size and athleticsism project him as a 2 in the NBA. I would say that he may have a chance over seas. If he were to suddenly grow 4 or 5 inches and put on 50 lbs, he would make a nice 3 in the NBA. To be a 2 guard, he would need to be a lot more athletic. To me, he doesn't project as a point guard, at all.

There are many really good colege basketball players who just don't project to the next level. We have had many of those kinds of kids. Some of them make a good living playing over seas for a few years. Some get invited to an NBA camp, but are there, primarily, to impress scouts for non-NBA teams. It helps if you have an NBA franchise within a stones throw.

Yeah...Huff is a solid DI player, but NBA wise, he doesn't really match up. Not saying he couldn't make the league, I just don't know what position he would play once he got there. He isn't a 1, but he really isn't a 2 or 3 either. He needs to improve his defense and speed if he wants a chance. Also, his outside shooting isnt' the greatest. These were the same issues with Weber State's Jermaine Boyette. He could drive and play great defense, but his shooting was suspect. That is what killed his chances. I think Huff is a terrific player and if UND can stay healthy next year they will have one hell of a good team. Need to keep Brekke in the middle and get some good backups to help him out.

As always...Jon has done a good job. Now Weber just needs to make him look like a genius by winning the whole thing.
