Bison Defense

What an amazing game. Fantastic effort for EWU defense, and BLM kept his head up.

Question, though, for all you football experts. Did the NDSU defense put the most pressure we've seen on the QB, or was it just me? Seemed to expose some weaknesses on our part, which may be more important against Villanova w/o Taiwan. Comments? GO EAGS!

The bison have one of the best front four in FCS, they have been putting pressure on everyone all year, just ask the Bobcats. I don't think they exposed us, but we definitely have some adjustments to make. I think the credit goes more towards how good the NDSU pass rush was compared to our protection.

I would fully expect a steady stream of blitzes from Nova. Our o-line play is the key to this game. If BLM has time and space, he can be really good. NDSU not blitzing on the final drive was a gift I don't expect Nova to make unless we can make 'em pay on some screens and quick hits.

I saw the comment about the front 4 for North Dakota State, but it was their back 4 that impressed me. Our receivers never had much room. I thought they looked slow when I saw them in some other games, but their speed held us down most of the game except when Taiwan was able to get through the line.

i'm very concerned about him being out for this upcoming game. Villanova can score, and Taiwan is usually good for a score or two that we'll be without. And frankly, his backups haven't done much this season from the RB position.

When you can generate the pressure that they could with just their front four, pass defense on the back end gets a whole lot easier. I didn't think their secondary wasn't something nobody has seen before. MSU's receivers were getting open, but finding the time to throw the ball was hard to come by.

When McGhee had time he was very effective. Problem was that their defensive line would automatically push our offensive line back 2 yards to start every play.

Heard we are practising for that deep D-Line puch vs our O-Line...run out of the shotgun and then a ten step drop.
