That just shows his character and substance. He'd rather serve others than play a game he loves. No worries though, he'll be back. Regardless, he played a heck of great game on Sat.

He gets my vote for big sky offensive player of the week, seriously I know Higgins and Collins both had big games, but if Bo doesnt get offensive player of the week NO ONE should get it.

You decided to post this since it was Sunday and the forum just needed a little church'n? lol

Bolen is a very nice guy. Mrs. smjcpa and I went to the game and talked with him for a few minutes after. Very down to earth, eager to talk and glad to meet some Weber fans. Bolen deserves the POTW. He is now one of my favorite players on the team.

Conference POW? Hell, he should be National POW!

Hate to burst a bubble, but don't be surprised if Matt Nichols of EWU gets the POTW. He passed for 300+ yards and 4 TD's. Might be a case of Co POTW. :?

So i'm wondering how this might affect Smith's chances of being Big Sky top rusher for the 4th consecutive year. I am thinking it is much less likely now for a couple reasons. 1. obviously he missed an entire week when the EW guy didn't. and 2. Now that it is evident how legit Bolen is, will Smith be sharing more carries with him for the rest of the season? if so, then Smith's yards per game will be significantly reduced.

League Honors Nichols, Lewis, Myers
Jon Kasper - Big Sky Conference
10/26/2009

OGDEN, UTAH (Oct. 26, 2009) - The Big Sky Conference has selected its football Players of the Week for games played on Saturday, Oct. 24. Eastern Washington quarterback Matt Nichols is the Offensive Player of the Week. Weber State defensive back Thyrell Lewis is the Defensive Player of the Week. Northern Arizona kicker Mark Myers is the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Nichols, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior from Cottonwood, Calif., completed 26-of-41 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles’ 34-24 home victory over Montana State. The Walter Payton Award candidate rallied his team from a 24-14 fourth-quarter deficit, hooking up with Taiwan Jones on scoring strikes of 20 and 38 yards. The 38-yarder put the Eagles up 28-24. Nichols also threw TD passes of 16 and 15 yards to Nathan Overbay in the second quarter. Nichols moved up to fourth on the Big Sky’s all-time career list in passing yards with 10,954 yards, and also moved to fourth all-time in total yardage with 11,588. This is Nichols’ fifth career Player of the Week honor.

Lewis, a 5-9, 175-pound senior from Hawthorne, Calif., tallied five tackles, two pass breakups and a game-clinching interception in No. 16 Weber State’s 28-20 road victory over Northern Colorado. With Weber State up 28-20 late in the fourth quarter, Lewis stepped in front of a Bryan Waggener pass and returned it 15 yards to the Northern Colorado 18-yard line. This is Lewis’ first Player of the Week award.

Myers, a 6-foot, 210-pound sophomore from Corona, Calif., made four field goals and four extra points in No. 24 Northern Arizona’s 40-12 victory over Idaho State. Meyers connected on field goals of 45, 24, 26 and 22 yards. He finished the game with 16 points, making all eight of his kicks. This is the first Player of the Week honor for Myers.

Nichols also got National POW from College Sporting News. I call BS! Bolen's 200+ yards on the ground and almost 300 total yards is much more impressive than Nichols' 327 yards passing. I guess it's the 4 TD tosses that gave it to Nichols. But, I'll take Higgins over Nichols any day. Cam can throw for 327 yards and 4 TDs in his sleep!

What a crock of you know what.....Bolen deserves it up and up, no arguments. Politics and Power, the Big Sky can't handle WSU having consecutive weeks with 2 players getting awards.....sheesh :(

I'm going to be PISSED off if Nichols breaks either of my man Jamie Martin's Sky records. He needs 699 yards of total offense and 1253 passing yards. E Wash has three games left. Passing yards record looks safe, but he could break the total offense record.
